Alec Baldwin: Defending Democracy!
December 16th, 2004 at 10:45 am by Preston Taylor Holmes(via Michelle Malkin)
By now you’ve probably heard about Chevy Chase’s idiotic expletive-laced rant the other night at the “2004 Spirit of Liberty” celebration.
It’s put on, incidentally, by People for the American Way, a socialist/pacifist organization hell-bent on actually destroying democracy, not defending it.
If you haven’t, here’s a taste…
After actors Alec Baldwin and Susan Sarandon delivered speeches accepting their Defender of Democracy awards, Chase took the stage a final time and unleashed a rant against President Bush that stunned the crowd. He deployed the four-letter word that got Vice President Cheney in hot water, using it as a noun. Chase called the prez a “dumb [expletive].” He also used it as an adjective, assuring the audience, “I’m no [expletive] clown either. . . . This guy started a jihad.”
Chase also said: “This guy in office is an uneducated, real lying schmuck . . . and we still couldn’t beat him with a bore like Kerry.”
Of course, organizers were taken aback by this outburst. (Or, at least they’re feigning indignation, which is one of the left’s specialties.)
Doesn’t the fact that this organization has bestowed a “defending democracy” award to two individuals who brazenly support our enemies tell you all you need to know?
Michelle Malkin notes that they’ve got more “Spirit of America” awards ceremonies scheduled for next month in NYC and San Francisco. Should provide an ass-load of fodder for the rest of us.

Don’t you see the irony of these Hollywood fools calling President Bush dumb?

2. Well I never thought I’d say Susan Sarandon and Alec Baldwin were the gracious ones.
3. Say Chevy, what happenned to that career?
4. Chicago arhitect Clark Griswald weighs in on the Presidential election.

I read an article on the appearence earlier where they wondered where this move would take Chase’s career. My thoughts were only what career? Until National Lampoons makes yet another Vacation movie, Chase won’t be in anything. He just isn’t funny.
Oh by the way, why hasn’t MC Hammer been an MC at one of those parties? Isn’t Hammer the real MC?

I thought Young MC was the real MC.
Chevy Chase’s career will always be highlighted by that horrible talk show they tried to cram down our throats. I think John McEnroe’s show had a longer lifespan. Chevy Chase completely sucks, and has in everything after the original Vacation.

“Chevy Chase completely sucks, and has in everything after the original Vacation.”
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Fletch and Fletch Lives was after Vacation. Those are two classics and the first is one of my favorite movies.

Okay Chad, I forgot about Fletch – that one was excellent. Though I don’t remember where it was in relation to Vacation. I was thinking it was before Vacation, but don’t have time to go look it up. I’m sure someone will fill us in. Someone really bored on a Friday afternoon surfing the web.

Boy . . . you people have too much time on your hands. Some Hollywood elite are not worth your time and others are, well, governor-material. It just doesn’t make sense. Why don’t you all take your heads out of your asses and make some Goddam sense. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Even you sheep. So go read your Limbaugh letter, watch the Only-Spin Zone, and eat a heaping spoonful of conservative fecal matter.

Chad Evans–I see the irony of you calling anyone dumb.

I see the irony of a person who states “everyone is entitled to an opinion” and then bashes others for sharing their opinion. Though I appreciate your comment towards my intelligence, or lack thereof as you put it. I do however question how you came up with your startling conclusion that I have the IQ of a peanut.
