Just who are we helping?

January 5th, 2005 at 10:41 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes

Yep, that’s a photo of one of these tsunami victims wearing an Osama bin Laden shirt (via Boortz). I heard about this photo at Ace’s place, but didn’t see it until yesterday. It’s a damn shame that punk and clown is not buried lifeless under a mountain of debris.

Oh, there’s more…

Funny, after the initial tsunami shock wore off, I was finally able to look at the whole situation with a more detached eye. I can’t remember who I heard ask the question – but the question was (paraphrasing) where was all the relief money from the global community after Florida was devastated last year by 4 hurricanes?

I’m sure somebody out there will inform me that there were some countries or international organizations that pitched in to help Florida out, but I seriously doubt any of them included islamic Indonesia. If you’re wondering why Indonesia wouldn’t help Floridians out during their time of crisis, it’s because they want us all dead. HundredPercenter has a helpful reminder for you here.

I also seriously doubt that Sri Lanka’s terrorists-in-residence, the Tamil Tigers, sent many fruit baskets to Hurricane Ivan’s homeless. In fact, the land of the “liberation tigers” and Indonesia’s Aceh region took a pretty good hit in the tsunami.

Terrorism has been no stranger to the region. Gunaratna became an expert on suicide bombings many years ago because the Tamil Tigers in his homeland began using such attacks as early as 1987.

Several hundred people were killed this past year in southern Thailand in the festering insurgency between Islamic separatists and the Thai military. And Aceh, the hardest hit area in Indonesia, is the home of GAM, a separatist group that has been waging a sporadic conflict with the Jakarta government.

It was precisely in these areas that the devastation was worst. Some of it, says Gunaratna, took a toll on the terrorist and insurgent movements, who lost both fighters and infrastructure when the waves crashed on shore.

So there is a silver lining behind every dark cloud.

It is important to remember that, no matter what we do to shower the victims with money, we will be viewed as the Great Satan. The dollar amount could climb into the trillions and we would still be evil, imperialistic Americans. CNN continues to prove this point:

“This is a golden opportunity for the United States,” says Gunaratna. The refrain that the United States and the West are losing the war of ideas, especially in the Muslim world, was the main topic at a recent conference about al Qaeda.

But counter that with images of U.S. helicopters bringing aid to places like Aceh, delivering something that insurgents can’t, and Gunaratna thinks that devastation can unwittingly bring some good. That it might overwhelm the message from bin Laden, at least in Indonesia, which is after all the most populous Islamic country in the world.

Another expert on terrorism, Zach Abuza, a professor in Southeast Asian studies at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, says the opportunity is there not just for the United States, but for the governments of these countries as well to win a propaganda victory by providing aid not just now, but in the years to come.

So, if we give the islamofascist world all our money and convert to islam, they may consider slowing down their plans for our slaughter. That may sound good to the Old Media, but not to me.

Tony Blankley at the Washington Times concurs

First the White House, sounding like a reverse television salesman, said: “Did we say $3 million, we meant $30 million… did we say $30 million, we meant $350 million… did we say $350 million, that’s only a down payment.”

Then the president sent his brother, Gov. Jeb Bush, and his secretary of state, Colin Powell, to pay their respects. Then he upped the ante and called on two former presidents, his father and Bill Clinton, to rally the country — despite the fact that the country seemed to be rallying itself rather magnificently. Private American giving looks to surpass the collective offerings of the European Union and the Arab Gulf states.

Not far off, I assume will be plane-loads of Asia-bound compassionate senators and congressmen with their little corny speeches that the locals won’t even bother to translate into the local language. But they will return with a videocassette suitable for playing domestically. And those trips, too, will be added into the humanitarian relief expenditures.

The president should get off this deranged merry-go-round. Money will not buy him — or us love. He and America should give according to the voice of our conscience — not in order to try to win a compassion competition.

This whole dog-and-pony show with President Junior, President Clifford and President Senior peforming a presidential shakedown/circle-jerk is offensive as well. Why do we need to bring back Junior’s failed dad and an impeached ex-president to give relief hand-jobs to the media? Atrocious.

Then last night, I stumbled across this post at Allah’s new/old place. Allah further puts things in their proper perspective.

So, I’m not exactly saying don’t contribute. Go ahead if it makes you feel like you’re doing something. But, please don’t contribute to any organizations tied to the United Nations (UNICEF, World Food Program, UNESCO, World Bank, et al). Those sunzabitches will snort your hard-earned cash up their nose like they do coke off a 14-year old Morrocan boy’s ass before you can count to 3. Go and do your homework at the Command Post’s round up or visit Captain Ed if you want to contribute to worthwhile charities.

Or better yet, go and give some cash to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Others pitching in on tsunami central…

Well, I’ve been quietly pointing the way to certain Christian charities (Samaritan’s Purse, for example) in hopes that while they help, they can do a little conversion work. However, I have no illusions about whether anyone’s going to start loving America any more no matter how much free shit they get. I heard on Fox today some guy saying that Osama-shirt guy “had to” think a little differently about the US, seeing how much our military and NGOs are doing for them. I’m not that optimistic when it comes to these bloodthirsty Islamofascists. Anyway, while I’ve been quietly pushing a few select charities, I’ve been sending my money elsewhere, to support our military and their families. I’m afraid people will think the tsunami donation covers their share for the year and not donate any more to other causes–and specifically, the military support ones.

As far as I’m concerned, the fucking Islamic countries ought to be putting up the lion’s share of the relief money, since they go to the trouble to pay for Muslims to blow themselves up. And every dollar or riyal they send to Indonesia, etc. is one less they send to the fucking splodeydope Paleo-stinians. F.E.T.E.

  2. GOB (...pronounced, Jobe.) Says:

 From everything I’ve heard, the Tsunami was terrible. And I agree with this. The Tsunamsis must, and will, be stopped.

  3. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

    Good points Beth.

And thanks for your interesting comment, GOB. I had no idea we had that kind of control over nature. Makes me feel a little better.

  4. Jane Says:

I had heard about the picture but didn’t realise how annoying it would be until I actually saw it.

  5. Katie Says:

Perhaps we can hope he received the shirt from a muslim relief effort…and didn’t have the sense to turn the one and only shirt he owned inside out…

  6. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Katie, he may have also not known that he was getting his photo taken, having never seen that technical marvel called a “camera”.

  7. One-Fine-Day Says:

It’s a damn shame the camera person (I wont say camera “man” so I dont offend anyone) did not have a gun.
