Finally! A way to tell them apart.
January 14th, 2005 at 9:41 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes
If you’re like me, you may not always be able to tell bedwetting leftists from everyday patriotic folk. Sometimes the nosering is a giveaway, sometimes it’s the Ani DiFranco shirt, and sometimes the patchouli and sandals will tell you what you need to know.
Sometimes, though, it’s just damn hard to tell. That’s where the new “Blue State Bracelets” come into play.
The bracelets are the brainchild of a mentally deficient europhile dingbat who needed a way to show her unbridled hatred for everything American.
“I sort of felt ashamed, and didn’t really want to be associated with being an American,” said Rothchild, who lives in New York City and voted for John Kerry.
Rothchild, 35, is selling blue bracelets that say “COUNT ME BLUE,” while Laura Adams, of Fairway, Kan., offers blue bracelets that say “HOPE.” The McKnight family, of Moscow, Idaho, is even more direct; their black bracelets proclaim: “I DID NOT VOTE 4 BUSH.”
“It’s kind of like saying, ‘This is my tribe,’” said Adams, 43, a Kerry supporter, who was inspired by her 14-year-old stepson’s yellow Lance Armstrong band.
Not really, Laura. It’s more like saying “I’m such a vacuous twit that I have no ability to make decisions based on anything other than oprah-style emotional appeals. Oh, and I hate.”
I, for one, hope that these catch on like wildfire so that I can tell when a stranger is simply a stranger and when a stranger is actually my enemy, clearly identifying themselves so that they may be vanquished.

You are a jerk. Different strokes for different folks but I guess you are too dumb to get it, moron.
January 16th, 2005 at 7:58 pm
I am most definitely too dumb to get it. Thank God.

Again, you are an ass, no education, no upbringing, a waste to the human race. But of course what would you know of such things. Moreover, you could care less, you really sincerely believe you are right.
Dreadful and disgusting you are, I pity you and everyone who must come in contact with you on a daily basis.

“I sort of felt ashamed, and didn’t really want to be associated with being an American,â€? said Rothchild, who lives in New York City and voted for John Kerry.”
isn’t that par for a leftist like her? she hated this country even before the election.

Around The Blogosphere In 80 Seconds #14
The Liqueur Tiramisu and coffee edition in the continuing saga of interesting and thought provoking news from around the web. There’s sure to be something you’ve missed around the blogosphere. See if you can get through these in under 80…

John, it’s not that I could care less, I’m just pretty selective about whose opinion matters to me. When you come in here vomiting cliches like “different strokes” to make the point that I shouldn’t point out the idiocy of these blue state bracelets, you immediately lose credibility. Your second comment, which is classic liberal elitism says even more about what a wretched mound of festering human debris you happen to be. So, I suppose, you could say (though, I’m sure you could say it in a far better way, since you went to the finest finishing school in France, I’m sure) that we agree to disagree.
One thing we do agree on, is that we hold each other in very low regard. Good day.

Hi Preston… I’m here via Digger’s Realm
IIRC, recently there was a bit of a warning about Lance’s yellow bracelets for anyone with any business at a hospital … yellow bracelets are used as DNR alerts to the staff (Do Not Resusitate)
After reading John’s “comments” … maybe we should just ask hospitals to change their procedures to make blue the DNR colorcode.

Actually I was not educated in France, have only been there once, as a small child. I am an 7th generation Floridian, and my ancestors, I am a blue blood, can be traced back to the Mayflower. They also settled the state of Florida, a few dying from malaria along the way.
I attended Randolf Macon as a teenager and graduated undergraduate from the Citadel and received from Law Degree from William and Mary. I served in the Gulf War, my father, grandfather and greatgrandfather all served this country and even further back in our lineage they fought during the Civil War, in Lincoln’s army and also at both the Battles of Concord and Bunker Hill, again, proudly serving this great country of ours.
And you? Who in your family gave their life for our fair country? I bet just like in Rush Limbaugh’s and Ann Coulter’s families, and a half and dozen other fictional Christians who tag themselves “Conservative”, no one.
I also bet my first assumption was correct-o, you are a lonely poor white redneck of no significant breeding, substance or value. In the real scheme of things you would fit in with the American standard or definition of “serial killer”.
This silly blog is your answer to your phony patriotism. Actions speak louder than words, something you probably also “don’t really get”.
Again, “different strokes for different folks” are in order as well as some serious reading of both Matthew and Luke.
If you even own a Bible.

John, don’t waste your breath on Preston. He’s a hate monger from way back. His head is like a cement block.
January 18th, 2005 at 8:22 am
John/PiginaPoke/Porky, despite your prattling on about all my faults, you continue to return. Shouldn’t you just run along and enjoy the blogs that are more to your liking, like Kos or Atrios, for example? Or do you just not have anything to do?
January 18th, 2005 at 1:07 pm
You are one dumb redneck and I just proved my point. You are still an ass, low class, ill-bred and please tell us, which is your choice for paneling on the wall of your mobile home?
I have never met Porky or Pigina, whomever they are, perhaps your parents?
And to Froederick, my problems with these morons are what they are doing to the Republican Party, in general. Quite frankly we do not need them. They are hate mongers who cannot seem to handle other Americans who think differently than them.
They mistake the Republican Party for the KKK. George Bush has nothing in common with these people, believe me.
January 18th, 2005 at 2:20 pm
I think that with the previous comments we can see why I am proud to live in a “red” state.
damn idiots…
January 18th, 2005 at 3:09 pm
john, your blathering is pointless; much like a typical leftist. so please, either debate mr. preston with facts or go off and protest somewhere.
January 18th, 2005 at 4:34 pm
Now, now, now. Let’s play nice with our visitor. Sure, he has no ability to demonstrate tolerance himself, so let’s welcome him with open arms and show that we are indeed able to tolerate the views of others. Even if they are elitist blue-bloods with impacted colons.
January 18th, 2005 at 6:44 pm
As always Preston you are right. I am sorry if I have upset the “new guy”
January 18th, 2005 at 7:51 pm
You are an idiot, as are your readers. Again, the Grand Old Party, my party and the party of my ancestors has no room for you and the likes of your in-bred hillwilliam followers, such as Canuck and One-Fine-day. I can visualize their trailers littering the landscape of a beautiful Red State somewhere.
You all please, go back to the party of the KKK and let’s call it a day. You all are ruining the Republican Party.
I do like your name though Preston, it sounds marvelous like John Wayne Gacy or Henry Lee Lucas. You definately sound like serial killing, sharecropping or carpetbagging is in your blood.
January 18th, 2005 at 8:32 pm
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…he called me an in-bred hillwilliam follower. well, i have only one thing to say to you “john”….takes one, to know one.
January 18th, 2005 at 10:56 pm
Well gosh, Johnny, I was really hoping to snuggle up under that big GOP tent with you. And I mean snuggle close. Real close.
But that will have to remain a fantasy. Alas…
January 18th, 2005 at 11:52 pm
I would expect that kind of behavior and reply from you.
And eat your redneck heart out, my wife and I will be there. I bet you and your faux Republican – (actually Democratic readers, I hear they like those white hoods), will not be.
