Missing the Point?

May 16th, 2005 at 8:39 am by Preston Taylor Holmes

If you haven’t heard the story yet, Michelle Malkin has a pretty good synopsis of what went down when Newsweak lied about U.S. soldiers allegedly desecrating the most holy of holy books to the American left, the Quran. (via Ace of Spades)

The condensed version is that, upon the news spreading that U.S. military flushed pages from the Quran down a toilet, islamists took to the streets in Afghanistan and Pakistan burning American flags and killing each other in a frenzy of peaceful religiosity.

Newsweak has now admitted that they may have gotten the story wrong.

The first thing that puzzles me about this story is – who knew so many Afghans and Pakis read Newsweak?

The other thing that has me befuddled is why nobody is questioning what kind of subculture leaves 15 of its own people dead over a news report? I mean, if it were the acquittal of some racist cops, then I understand leaving scores of people dead in the streets, but desecrating a book? Talk about an overreaction….

And lets face it, we’ve all done it. I can recall that night in a hotel room in South Plainfield, NJ, when I simply had to go and there was no toilet paper anywhere to be found… Sometimes you have to use what you can find – especially if it has a bunch of squiggly lines on it no one’s gonna be able to read anyway.

UPDATE:

Dave at Garfield Ridge makes a similar observation. I’ve got to visit him more often so that he can do my work for me.

Eric also had similar sentiments. Damn I’m late on this one. Well, I was on vacation, so I have a good excuse.

Basically, Newsweak is just like the rest of the Islamofascist-loving c*nts in the media. I SO don’t want to yawn at their sloppy anti-American hype, but I’m not the least bit surprised. PISSED AS HELL, but not surprised.

Honestly though, those filthy animals don’t need much of an excuse to riot and murder. If it weren’t that, they’d find something else. I’m NOT excusing Newsweak, though.

BTW, you might be robbing Rusty of his fatwa with this post.

    NewsWEAK missed one
Well, you couldn’t possibly be surprised, considering how SLOPPY they are.
They just reported on the wrong one doing the flushing.

[AS IF a bunch of Islamofascist swine needed an excuse to act like the filthy pigs they are, anyway.]…

  5. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

If Rusty can’t get a damn fatwa, nobody can. And besides, I don’t get enough traffic to bring on the fatwas, just the occasional run-of-the-mill hate mail.

  6. Eric Says:

If anyone snatches that fatwa, it’ll be me. Who else has done a post titled “Mohammed Was A Pimp?”

    Sick of it
KABUL, Afghanistan (Reuters) – Angry protests raged across the Muslim world from Indonesia to Gaza on Friday over a report that U.S. interrogators at Guantanamo Bay had desecrated the Koran, with calls for retaliation and a rising death toll. I’m
