Virtual Studio Visitor
June 10th, 2005 at 1:33 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes* This post may only be funny to those of you who have ever been in a band, recorded in a studio with a band, or perhaps you’ve been a studio visitor yourself. The rest of you can skip this one and move on.
From Sonic Finger: It’s the Virtual Studio Visitor!

The Virtual Studio Visitor is an audio plugin that allows you to alter an artist’s performance based on the impact of someone dropping by the studio. Is it an angry ex-band member? A resentful girlfriend? Somebody stopping by to collect on a debt? The possibilities are endless.
The sound can be further customized by adjusting controls for how much the singer or musician hates, respects or fears the Virtual Visitor, as well as controls for setting the level of sexual involvement with the Visitor.
Producer testimonials really tell the story:
After playing around with VSV, I hit upon a visitor combination that really brought the vocal track to life. For this particular vocalist, having Stephen Hawking and Mary Lou Retton in the studio was the perfect combination.
The key, though, was having the hatred and fear controls for Hawking set to max, as well as having him be an ex-member of the band.
Also, being extremely sexually active with Mary Lou was vital. The combination turned an otherwise lifeless vocal into an amazing performance.
