The Leftist Creed

August 26th, 2005 at 3:25 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes

Dr. Shackleford is bringing it long and strong with the Rosary of the Left: Hail Cindy Sheehan, full of grace

1) Make the Sign of the Ankh and say the “Leftist Creed.”

I believe in Gaia, the Mother, who is the Spirit of earth; and in Casey, Her only Son, our fallen Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Lesbian Union of Gaia and Cindy, suffered under George W. Bush, was shot, died, and was buried. Mother Sheehan descended into Crawford, Texas; the third day she went back to California, only to reappear in Crawford. She will ascend into heaven, and sit at the right hand of The Great Universal Spirit or Spirits (choose gender and number), the Almighty; from thence She shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in Noam Chomsky, the Holy Univerity Curriculum, the communion of all anti-establishment forces, the forgiveness of every one, especially those who don’t change their ways, and the inevetable coming of the Communist Utopia. Amen.

When Rusty brings the funny, he brings the funny in a big fat duffel bag.

In semi-related news, Eric from Vince Aut Morire has opened two new Cafe Press shops – the Happy Kafir and Vinnie’s Kennel. Go buy some of his overpriced shit before Cafe Press realizes his shop is not exclusively selling anti-Bush gear and shuts him down.

  1. Mad Dog Vinnie Says:

    Thanks brutha!

  2. SemiPundit Says:

Unless you have already served, please state here the reason why you have not enlisted.

If you consider this to be an unfair or inappropriate question, please explain why that is so.

  3. Feisty R. Whore Says:

DON’T SPEAK THAT NAME!! [Covering ears!!]

You did slightly mitigate my hearing loss with use of the “long and strong” up there in the first sentence….copycatter.

  4. Mad Dog Vinnie Says:

Preston, do you have any ditches by your house that semi can camp out in until you answer?

  5. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Allow me to finish Semi’s thought for him. CHICKENHAWK CHICKENHAWK! HYPOCRISY! ABU GHRAIB! GITMO! TORTURE! CHICKENHAWK! ILLEGAL WAR FOR OIL!

    That’ll learn me.

  6. SemiPundit Says:

    I thought so.

This could well be the next serious problem for the administration and its supporters. There are very few valid reasons for supporting the Bush policy but not serving. Jonah Goldberg is, of course, an exception.

  7. MacStansbury Says:

So…serving as enlisted, and an officer is the only way to prove that I can approve of anything?

because, not only did I re-enlist, I actually fought in this war. I was there. you weren’t, Mr. SemiPundit. since you weren’t there, you can’t say anything.

unless you were there, in which case, you can’t say anything, because you’re biased. or something.

I’m still – STILL – trying to figure out how a position on an issue is made by one’s former involvement in said activity. just because you played baseball in high school does not make you a World Series winning manager.

  8. SemiPundit Says:

    Mac:

I and your country thank you for your service. The question does not apply to you.

  9. Mad Dog Vinnie Says:

Nice try, semi. Unfortunately, this isn’t your blog.

I admire your bleatasticfucktard arrogance, though.

Now respond to Mac, did you enlist or not?

Have YOU served, Semi? Of course not, because if you truly believed in your cause, you’d be in Iraq constructing car bombs.

  10. SemiPundit Says:

You are assuming a lot, but you are correct; I did not serve in Iraq. However, after being unable to get into the National Guard in 1967, since it was already full of the local dignitaries’ sons, I volunteered for the draft. It was the year before the lottery system was put in place.

I did not go, because of a birth defect involving a benign tumor attached to my spinal cord. I was not rejected, but was classified 1-Y and sent home. I was willing, and could have served in a support capacity, even in a hospital or something similar, since I had training in microbiology and histology.

My brother was accepted and served, returning voluntarily for a second tour. He got a real Purple Heart and other commendations.

What I am getting at is that you guys (and girls, too) have been put in this predicament by our misguided leaders whose only expertise in the conduct of war comes from graduate seminars at Yale, strategy sessions at AEI, and idle banter at beltway cocktail parties between business leaders and politicians. Soldiers, to them, are factors of production in pursuit of their dreams.

You need to get your thoughts together on this issue, because the opposition has spotted it on the radar and will be coming soon.

  11. SemiPundit Says:

I have had the opportunity to read some of Jonah Goldberg’s attempts at responding to the question of why he has not signed up. In every case, he has rambled all around the subject, repeating the peripheral refrain that one can support the war without serving. Of course one can- if one is too old, too young, or is mentally or physically unable to do so. In this regard, he brings a knife to a gunfight.

I would like to see some valid reasons here other than:

I have a wife and kids. I can’t get off work. Mom (Lucianne) says I can’t go.

  12. MacStansbury Says:

    Chickenhawk

Frankly, I got tired of hearing people called ?Chickenhawk,? because they didnt want to kill people.
