How Not To Blog, Part 34,482

November 10th, 2005 at 10:31 am by Preston Taylor Holmes

As blog spats go, this is a pretty fun one.

Blake, of the legendary Nashville Files blog, had an excellent post yesterday making a comparison between San Fran’s gun ban and how the Nazis disarmed their population, rendering them defenseless against murderous tyranny.

Local lefty blogger (and surprise!, Vanderbilt law student) David Bander immediately wet his pants upon reading Blake’s post and demanded that Blake remove the post and apologize. Read his rather hilariously pathetic comments here.

But was it all a ruse to generate traffic for his own sad blog? This post at Bander’s “Forward With Ford” blog certainly makes it appear that way.

Like all good liberals, however, Bander wants something for nothing. Which is why the welcome mat image on his “welcome Nashville Files readers” post is actually hotlinked from someone else’s server.

Link to the image Bander is using here.

Maybe he’s using it with permission, but I doubt it. And ordinarily, I wouldn’t drive traffic to a lefty blog – especially one with no actual content besides “vote for Ford, vote for Ford” – but I’m just in that kind of ridiculous mood today.

Hat tip: Nashville is Talking.

UPDATE:

After requesting that Bander take down the image that he was hotlinking without permission and getting no response, the gentleman whose bandwidth was being swiped changed the image that Bander was displaying. The crafty law student was able to get the image link switched quickly, however.

The pic is hilarious though. Check it out here. I like that guy’s sense of humor.

I think the Incredible Sulk is trying to avoid studying for his finals or whatever they have at this point in Law School. He was trolling for site traffic all day yesterday. Witness his pathetic comments at NiT begging Brittney to link him, with his url prominently placed in each comment.

I suppose I should rename this post “A Cry for Help” or “How To Get Attention: A Tip For Bad Bloggers”.

Vandy kids are like fish in a fucking barrel. A few years ago, they had this dickhole, leftwing math professor named Jonathan Farley. Racebaiting, spoiled little elitist. Ran on the local Green Party ticket because they wanted to shake that image of the Green Party being a bunch of old white hippies (why, it’s the choice of opportunistic, mediawhoring black communists too!). Bitched about wanting reparations even though he grew up a lower upper class snotnose from two immigrant college professor/parents that didn’t move to the US until like the 1970s. Started that whole brouhaha over at Vandy for the dorm being named Confederate Memorial Hall and that everyone in the South should have been executed after the Civil War.

He claimed his candidacy, that reached literally tens of voters, was undermined by the white bigots in the Green Party. No shock that this is the school Bruce Barry teaches.

They have a “Divinity School”. The same one Al Gore went to to dodge his Vietnam service. It teaches people to become atheists.

Used to have more fun with another Vandy professor who would drop 100 posts a day over the Nashville City Paper. Even more fun when we found out that his wife left him and he abandoned his kids because he spent too much time on the internet arguing about how John Kerry was going to be the next President.

    Nutballs they are.

I remember Farley, but I didn’t know all the dirty details. You have to wonder if there is some chemical seepage coming through the pavement over on the Vandy campus that leads to derangement syndrome.

  5. Smantix Says:

It was hilarious. I subscribed to the Green Party newsletter so I got all of the little backbiting e-mails between them blaming each other for losing and how even though they openly admitted that they were using him for his skin color, that he was filled with indignation towards them because he knew what they were doing and used them as a platform to promote himself. Take that White Devil Establishment!

I was eventually kicked off of the list even though I’d never made a post in the yahoo group. They just recognized the nick.

Great job pigeon holing vandy students guys! Meanwhile, vandy law school has one of the largest and most active federalist societies in the nation (Scalia took time to speak to them personally last year), a faculy suggested race-based quota system for law journal membership was universally rejected by the student body last year, and on and on and on. Don’t let the vocal crazies like Bruce Barry and David Bander give all of us a bad name. Love your blog, keep up the great work, just throw some love to the conservative majority at vandy.

  7. Smantix Says:

Jane – Let’s see the conservative movement at Vandy in action! It’s always the squeaky wheels that get the grease.

Affirmative Action Bake Sales or The Penis Monologues.

Would you say that this is still somewhat accurate?

  8. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

I hope there is a conservative majority Jane. The whole time I lived in Nashville I heard the opposite. I only knew two or three Vandy law students though, and they were both pants-shitters. I’m sure that skewed my perception.

    San Francisco chooses victimhood

Ironically, this anti-gun measure passed on the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the infamous anti-Jewish pogram in Nazi Germany made possibly by the Weimar Republic’s gun laws and the Nazi Weapons Law of 1938. The Nazis were real big on gun control. An…
