Great Scott!

FreedomFromSpeech

Banned from the Nashville Scene. Imagine my dismay. A publication that I’ve read since it’s first Bedwetting Leftist Edition has culled my IP address and banned me for comments I made on someone else’s site or this one.

It was a quiet Saturday afternoon. I had just finished reading how infamous Marxist & revisionist historian Howard Zinn would be “required reading” for all Good Liberals because of such candid observations as:

The courts have never been on the side of justice, only moving a few degrees one way or the other, unless pushed by the people. Those words engraved in the marble of the Supreme Court, “Equal Justice Before the Law,” have always been a sham.

No Supreme Court, liberal or conservative, will stop the war in Iraq, or redistribute the wealth of this country, or establish free medical care for every human being.

But when it came time for such an avid masochist, like myself, to register my umbrage with Matt Damon’s political sire, I couldn’t get no sassifaction:

Well, this country may not have always lived up to the zenith of it’s creed but, like it or not, redistribution of the wealth of this country and free medical care for every human being on Earth has never been it’s fucking goals. And while healthcare is a necessity it is not a Right and it does not have to be Free. Just as food is a necessity but it is not a right and it is not free.

A Futile, Conciliatory Haiku for The Nashville Scene

But this Zinn Is Not That Zen
He sucks donkey balls.

    Holy Geeeeezzzz!

I had a fairly light day planned. I was gonna get up, see what was on TV, read a few blogs, look at the fishwrap, and maybe post something silly about my affinity for Chicken McNuggets or something. Then I read Smantix’s post about Howard Zinn at Six…

The Scene: No class! No schooling either.

  3. Sarcastro Says:

What kind of shit is that?? Maybe after everyone gets free healthcare and their wealth distributed, the increasingly irrelevant Scene will see fit to reinstate you. Provided you complete their sensitivity and political reeducation camp, er seminar.

  4. brittney Says:

I have to admit I love a good banning.

  5. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

    No t-shirt for you, Brittney.

  6. Smantix Says:

I have to admit that I love good writing.

When you come up with some I hope you’ll post it one day.

  7. Cranky Says:

You must be doing something right to be banned by these bozos.
