A Quick Self-Defense Lesson
November 30th, 2005 at 3:08 pm by Preston Taylor HolmesReason #13,514 why you should own a gun and learn how to use it.
Sunrise police said when officer arrived at the apartment building at 5990 N.W. 19th St. just after midnight, Christine Myers was lying dead in a hallway.
Police arrested up 26-year-old Edward Mosie Howard on Tuesday.
Investigators said Myers and Howard knew each other, but investigators said they don’t know a motive for the killing.
Hate to tell you pants-shitting anti-gun zealots, but if Christine had the time to dial 911 on her cell phone, that time would have been better spent reaching for her Lady Smith & Wesson™, with which she could have blown Mr. Howard’s so-called brains out, after which she could have called 911 and a cleaning crew and whoever the hell else she felt like chatting with.
Now she has to wait in line to use the afterlife’s only payphone.
Defend yourself. As much as I respect our boys in blue, the cops are there to dust for fingerprints and take statements after you’re dead. That’s the sad reality.

But, but, but if she owned a gun, the bad guy might take it away from her and use it on her…
Um, statistics show that people who own a firearm are more likely to have it taken away and used against them…
…nevermind.

Hence the comment, learn how to use it.

Yeah, but that presupposes personal responsibility. And we all know how prevalent that is nowdays.
Personally, I like the mentality of places like Kennsaw, GA, where firearm ownership is mandated by law. And as a result, the crime rate is a fraction of the national average.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that the police do not have to help you. It stemmed from a case where two women had heard a woman screaming and struggling in their apartment building. They called the police about the disturbance.
A little while later, after the screaming had subsided, they went to the apartment to check on the woman. A gang of men answered the door, took them hostage and systematically raped them for hours.
After all was said and done, the women sued the police dept. It went to the Supreme’s and they said the police do not have to help you. It’s an idea that’s been upheld many times. Something along the lines that the police are not responsible for the actions of third parties.
I couldn’t find the exact case but this one touches on the subject.

Really, vampyn, she is now dead. What do statistics show in her case? If she had a gun, at least she would have a chance. And those statistics you cite are bullshit. Whose are they? The Brady Centers?

Uh, sorry, vamp, will shirk away with tail between legs!

Everyone that has in interest in 2nd Amendment Rights and other great conservative political commentary should make a small investment in a Sirius Satellite Radio and tune into channel 144 (Patriot) from 12noon – 3pm PST and listen to Cam Edwards http://www.camedwards.com program “Cam & Company”. Or, you can catch it at http://www.nranews.com on your computer. Every day you hear how small minded people are working to eliminate everyone’s 2nd amendment rights and how WE CAN PREVENT THIS!!

Don’t forget that the Criminal’s Right’s Commie Left has also enacted laws that tie law enforcement’s hands in many cases, and helps prevent the police from protecting us.

My wife has a SP101 Ruger.357, she has Range training and is a better shot than I am. YOU try and take it away from her and she will introduce you to the “Golden Triangle”. One statement, her statement is all the police will need.

Billy Budd – I have an SP101 as well! Great gun, but I’m a better shot with my Glock 27. It’s just smoother. Good choice!
That’s the rule, isn’t it? There should only be one statement available after a self-defense shooting. Remember that, kids.
