Other People’s Funny
January 11th, 2006 at 10:08 am by CrankyFirst of all, you know what’s not funny? Casualty Insurance data interfaces. They’re not funny. But I am up to my eyeballs in them.
Besides, even though I titter uncontrollably when someone says “accidental death and dismemberment”, that doesn’t makes for a good post.
So howzabout I just pass on some good stuff from other blogs?
Dean Esmay is playing “anti-war” bingo. Extra Points Challenge; see how many of these gems might be used unchanged in the upcoming Iran crisis.
Think the SCOTUS hearings are about as interesting as watching hot air ballons deflate? Well, Sean’s comic strip ought to pick you right up!

Cranky, I used to find them hilarious, sometimes prurient. How many appendanges can be injured? More than a non-insurance laborer might think.
P and C systems are the laugh tanks of the insurance industry. Once you realize that the ghouls on Mahogany Row are basing your salary on the premium/”loss” (ha ha ha) ratio without counting their investments, and telling you how broke they are, you learn how to tie a noose.
When did a “claim” become a “loss”? When it’s time for your increase.

Are you paid more if you’re dead and dismembered than if you were just dead?

Sean perhaps you should ask Ted Kennedy, he’s been dismembered for quite sometime.

Rhod, your knowledge of my industry is spooky.
Sean, I think order is key in these cases.
Cindi, let’s not go there, m’kay?
