Naturally, Hamas has put their nose to the grindstone and started tackling the tough issues that Abu Mazen had been ignoring. Like how many blue stripes are on the Israeli flag and demanding that they remove them because they’ve got some unsane conspiracy theory as to what they represent.

I’ve never been particularly impressed with Hamas’ new employee orientations. Sure, they’ve got the “punch a clock” and “let’s hit a popular restaurant” thing down but most of them don’t wind up coming back from lunch.

Hamas’ win actually simplifies and clarifies certain issues. The first, of course, is that the possibility of a sovereign state isn’t first on a Pali’s check list, but they have the status if not the state(yet). It will be legally easier to kill them.

Second, the unofficial polarization in the immediate region will solidify before long. Neither Egypt nor Lebanon can tolerate a terrorist “state” in Gaza or The West Bank. Hamas is a danger; this will force everyone to choose sides in public. A good thing.

I’m moving to Ireland. They only use rubber bullets. The problem with Hamas failing, which we humans know will happen,is what is left of the people of Palestine will blame the world. Other than taking them out, I don’t see much of a chance of ever finding peace. Heh, and my grandmother thought Barry Goldwater would set the world a blaze. All kidding a side, this freaks me out thinking about what our children have to look forward to if this insanity is not stopped. Bet your sweet azz there is much a buzz in the Pentagon these days.
