Attention: Rumsfeld

  1. Smantix Says:

Krumm was covering how the State Department was making excuses for this behavior and trying to undercut the current US policy abroad – again.

And a certain expat’s site, that is blogrolled here and will remain nameless, was applauding Britain’s criminal prosecution of a public official who called Islam a “wicked religion”. I posted a link to some of the infamous London-based, Islamic cleric Abu Hamza’s free speech stylings (thus demonstrating the “wicked religion”) and was quickly deleted.

Denmark has been moving towards taking a realistic stand against these bastards for a few years now. Too many EU-nuchs subscribe to that Alligator diplomacy though.

Crazy times I tells ya. It’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

  2. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Well, if it’s who I think it is, and I’m sure it is, that’s disappointing.

But, it’s not like we don’t know which side she’s on anyway.

If I hadn’t already bought a bunch of Lego and Brio crap for Christmas, I’d buy more just to support the Danes. They should retaliate militarily against Syria for the attack on their embassy.

  3. Smantix Says:

I don’t know if you’ve got DirecTV or if Comcast offers the Lunatic Left network “Link” (as opposed to Current, Sundance, IFC, et al.) but they had an interesting movie about the rise of Pia Kjaersgaard in response to waves of Islamic infiltration of Denmark. They portrayed her rise in a poor light but it was worth watching just to see how some of these northern, mostly homogeneous European countries were being forced to reckon with the PC multi-culticide crippling their socialist utopias.

They need support but they have to stand up for themselves first. The pictures are already starting to come out from where the Syrians burned down their embassy and one of the newspapers that published those horrific cartoons of Mohammed have already tucked tail.

In response to your burning down our embassy, we’d like to say, “We’re sorry”. Thank you and please don’t be upset with us. Insanity.

  4. Cranky Says:

These signs are great! What an easy way to find people to put back on the next boat to Sudan?

  5. SINcerely Says:

Screw fear. If the bastards had any balls they would try such a protest here. They ain’t seen nothing yet.

I can get them being upset about relgious indifferences. But when you burn down buildings in the name of religion, you have crossed the line with most Americans.

  6. Vol Abroad Says:

WOAH, woah –back up the truck. NO NO NO WE WERE NOT APPLAUDING THE criminal prosecution of the BNP leader Nick Griffin for saying Islam is a wicked religion. He has EVERY right to say that. (However, Nick Griffin is a nasty piece of work).

Read again. It is a FREAKING TRAVESTY of JUSTICE for him to be prosecuted!! The only speech that should ever ever even considered for curtailment is direct incitement to violence or kiddie porn (and there’s quite a bit of stuff I’d prefer to be sold on a shelf out of reach of children).

The BNP guys themselves don’t support free speech, but I and my husband (who wrote the post) actually support THEIR right to free speech and EVERYONE else’s. If that post wasn’t clear we’ll make it clearer.

(BTW – I know you commented on the post – but that comment has now disappeared – along with all the other comments and my posts from yesterday. I’ll try to restore it )

  7. Vol Abroad Says:

err.. that previous comment was to Smantix.

By the way, a Vol-friend visiting from California happened to see some of the protests in London. Very scary. The police did everything they could to protect the rights of those holding signs which said “Behead those who insult Islam” when offended passers by tried to wrench such signs out of their hands.

  8. Smantix Says:

Don’t worry about it VA. If that’s the case, my bad and thanks for the clarification. You don’t have to add anything on my account.

The whole idea that a public figure being charged criminally for a comment while nutballs put on fake suicide belts to protest outside of Denmark’s Embassy in England and don’t get charged is simply beyond the pale. That’s the whole “inciting the violence”.

  9. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

FYI, Vol, I went to check it out but your blog was down for the count. I’ll revisit it today. That didn’t sound like you, I didn’t think. We don’t agree on a whole lot, but we certainly share the same ideas on freedom of expression.

  10. Vol Abroad Says:

Well, the tide on the street is turning, I think. People have had enough. There have certainly been calls for prosecution of those inciting violence.

BTW – I was near the Danish Embassy today, by chance, and snapped a few pics. Wanted to get closer, but smarter heads prevailed. I’m not sure I would have liked it too much if I’d seen something the suicide belt stunt. Funny that the Met’s happy to shoot Brazilian electricians, but when it comes to what just might be a real threat they show restraint. We left as more cops were arriving.

I didn’t see any signs or banners like the ones on display Friday.

    >>Well, if it’s who I think it is, and I’m sure it is, that’s disappointing.

But, it’s not like we don’t know which side she’s on anyway.

  13. Vol-in-Law Says:

I hate those cut-off comments. Just wanted to make clear the Vol & I are on the side of freedom, hence:

    http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2006/02/vil-i-disagree-with-what-you-say-but-i.html

BTW the Islamonazis* and their “Death to Free Speech” etc placards have really crossed the line on this one. Now I’m angry.

*I think it was former CIA director George Tenet on the John Stewart show who made a convincing case that the term “Islamofascists” is unfair and insulting to actual Fascists…

  14. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Good point Vol-in-law. I’ll consider using islamonazis going forward.
