WTW: Wifely Expectations
March 15th, 2006 at 11:24 am by Preston Taylor HolmesAnd now from the why the hell didn’t I think of this department – it’s a new type of pre-nup. Forward-thinking Iowan Travis Frey created a “Contract of Wifely Expectations” which detailed a whole host of rules and regulations for his wife.
Some of the highlights of this 21st-Century pre-nup are details for what his wife is allowed/required to wear, personal hygiene standards, sexual requirements and tasks that could earn the wife GBDs – or Good Behavior Days.
A few of the details from this 4-page contract include:
- Wife will shave every third day… all areas should be “completely clean shaven”… pubic hair must be centered and a certain width and length
- Thong panties only… except during menstruation
- During so-called “My Time,” wife will be subservient, submissive, obedient, cheerful, do what is asked (sexual or otherwise), no “whining, sobbing or pouting”
- To earn Good Behavior Days, wife must be “totally compliant with everything requested… and perform everything with complete and total enthusiasm”
Oh, there is much much more. Go read the entire agreement. The sex-related regulations are pretty remarkable. You’ve got to give the guy credit for creativity. I will note that it’s not clear if the wife signed the agreement before or after the wedding.

Jen, from Demure Thoughts came up with a very good response for this man’s contract.

Jen’s rules are pretty funny. But as I only have three or four rules that I live by, Jen’s rules unfortunately violated my first one:
“No matter how good she looks, some guy is tired of putting up with her shit.”

If I had only known then (when I got married), what I know now… No pre-nup can think of everything that might happen. You could make up 100 thou-shalt-nots in a pre-nup, and there would still be something that drives you crazy about your spouse. Better to just say ‘for better or worse’ and love each other.
