Freedom of Speech, Redux

April 14th, 2006 at 3:24 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes

(via Malkin)

Freedom of Speech.

Funny. The phrase means different things to different people. But even people who disagree on particular points-of-view usually agree that freedom of speech does not include the destruction of property or vandalism. Most reasonable people, I should say.

On the flip side, there are hysterical bedwetting idiots like Dr. Sally Jacobsen. Dr. Jacobsen is a fat, Marxist hag professor from Northern Kentucky University…

… who like so many of her ilk, became enraged when she saw a display of crosses meant to memorialize the millions killed by abortion each year. She, and her students, destroyed the display, the offending crosses and signs in a temper-tantrum unworthy of even a two-year-old.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS – A professor at Northern Kentucky University said she invited students in one of her classes to destroy an anti-abortion display on campus Wednesday evening.

NKU police are investigating the incident, in which 400 crosses were removed from the ground near University Center and thrown in trash cans. The crosses, meant to represent a cemetery for aborted fetuses, had been temporarily erected last weekend by a student Right to Life group with permission from NKU officials.

Public universities cannot ban such displays because they are a type of symbolic speech that has been protected by the U.S. Supreme Court.

More details….

Witnesses reported “a group of females of various ages” committing the vandalism about 5:30 p.m., said Dave Tobertge, administrative sergeant with the campus police.

Well, witnesses couldn’t be sure they were females, due to their ambiguous gender and globular shapes.

“I did, outside of class during the break, invite students to express their freedom-of-speech rights to destroy the display if they wished to,” Jacobsen said.

Asked whether she participated in pulling up the crosses, the professor said, “I have no comment.”

She said she was infuriated by the display, which she saw as intimidating and a “slap in the face” to women who might be making “the agonizing and very private decision to have an abortion.’”

It sounds like what you need right now is a good, firm slap in the face, Prof. But, don’t forget, it’s all about the good Professor’s feeeeeeeeelings.

Pulling up the crosses was similar to citizens taking down Nazi displays on Fountain Square, she said.

“Any violence perpetrated against that silly display was minor compared to how I felt when I saw it. Some of my students felt the same way, just outraged,” Jacobsen said.

You know you’re dealing with a Grade-A moonbat when they bring a Nazi reference into the debate.

Luckily, the group is going to press charges against the Professor and her cohorts. I only wish it would come with some jail time so that she could spend some time with some of those big, muscular women and learn about the mysterious wonders of caged heat.

A message for you, Professor. If you really want to get back at those mean right-to-lifers, go out and get pregnant, then have an abortion. Surely it won’t be your first. Then you can bring what’s left of the fetus to campus and display it as a work of modern art, a bloody representation of your struggle for equality and womyn’s rights. The New York Times will herald you as the artist of the year, I’m certain.

  1. Carl Says:

Normal folks consider Jacobsen’s actions acts of vandalism. Uber-liberals consider this “free speech” UNLESS is was done by a conservative then they consider it a “hate crime.”

  2. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

It’s times like this I’m glad I have to blog with which to use as a truncheon against pants-shitters like Jacobsen. Even if it has no real impact, it’s therapy for me.

  3. Rhod Says:

Preston, your blog offers the same relief for blog parasites like me. Jacobsen is animated excreta; one hopes she knows it and is in agony.

  4. Carl Says:

Sadly, Rhod, the self-deluded like Jacobsen will be forever convinced of her demented form of righteousness and nothing anyone can do or say will show her the error of her ways. Even if she is charged, tried, convicted and forced to serve time in jail she will continue to pronounce her innocence and attempt to convince others that she is the victim.

    Intolerant liberal professors news…

There are two stories I want to discuss in this post, stories that add more proof in the evidence file that the term “tolerant liberal” is an oxymoron.
First, from Ohio State University comes this letter written by the Alliance Defense Fund…
