Another Anniversary
April 20th, 2006 at 10:15 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes
There was another anniversary that I missed yesterday – thanks to Vinnie for reminding me – the Oklahoma City Bombing.
It was 11 years ago yesterday that a network of conspirators blew up the Murrah Federal Building, murdering 168 people. Sure, McVeigh got the needle, but the investigation was never completed – he had plenty of help from some middle-eastern allies. Of course, the Clinton/Reno justice department and the Old Media didn’t want that part of the story scrutinized, but I still recommend you read The Third Terrorist for the story behind the bombing.
That is, unless you’re satisfied with the Feds’ version. In which case, bully for you.
Remember those who were murdered.
UPDATE:
DSmith reminds me of yet two more important anniversaries: Waco and Columbine. I’ve got to pay more attention.

But…but…but…There CAN’T have been any Middle Eastern involvement. McVeigh is the poster child for the “some terrorists are *gasp* white Christians” rebuttal. If it gets out that the Original White Christian Terrorist had help from the Middle East there will be an awful lot of disappointed posters at Kos.

Let’s not forget WACO (ever!) on April 19, and Columbine on April 20.
Sad, sad, SAD days!
Reno has a special place in Hell awaiting him (er, her, whatever!).

I’d say the chief wacko at WACO was that religious nut who directed his people to bunker up rather than surrender or escape, not the federal agents who were fired upon. Shame on you DSmith.

slipdick, you obviously have NO idea what you are talking about.
Got any sources to your accusations? Is it now illegal to be religious? Is it illegal for more than a government sanctioned “family” to live in the same dwelling?
What are your FACTS that the ATF, FBI or Janet frickin’ Reno should have been there in the first place?
Please, I’m dying to know. Cause you can bet your ass I know virtually EVERYTHING there is to know about this assasination that makes Kent State look like a frickin’ frat party!
Come on now. Prove it. “not the federal agents who were fired upon”
By the way, ATF started firing on them first. Does that even bother you? That the ATF can just start firing on a group of men, women and children because he was an (according to you) “religious wacko”?
Can they go after Jesse Jackson next?

Oh, that s/h/b slipdpdx. My apologies on that one slip.
But the rest, I stand by my comments.

dsmith, I thought you were getting nasty! BTW, nothing was right about Waco.
I did believe at the time that Koresh was a cult leader and somehow should have been stopped. Obviously not with the deaths of the followers and the horrific Reno bungling.

I had never seen that heartbreaking image.
On another note, I befriended some of the people in the militia movement during that time. They are not about that kind of thing. They are a little too extreme, but the last thing they would do is harm another American.
Looking back, that was a terrible time. It was sensible not to trust the government. What was really disturbing was watching the first newscasts that day, and then comparing them to the newscasts a week later. The early newscasts reported a lot of things that were later covered up. Like the middle eastern suspects, and possible charges placed around the building. That whole OKC thing made me a bit of a conspiracy nut for a while. I grew up in OKC.
I was at the Murrah building two years ago. One of those ominous little chairs had ballons attached to it with cartoon characters and they said “Happy Birthday”. I was walking with my small kids at the time.
How can anyone forget?

I can understand the heartbreak you must feel, Michele.
I had two cousins going to Columbine when Klebold and Harris reaked their havoc, there.
Fortunatley, one of them actually ditched school that day. And he was lucky, cause he had bad past experiences with one of the shooters.
Every single one of these events only cement the idea that the Federal Government is not working for YOU. And I will never, ever forget it.
I feel for those (say, NOLA) who still feel that the goverment has their best interests at heart.
They will learn soon enough.

The above comment could not have been written by Smantix, as he is still sleeping (lazy ass).
It should read Mrs. Smantix.
