You may or may not have noticed, but there have a been a few renegade sp@ms that have made their way through my Sp@m Karma 2 fortress, resulting in my having to moderate all comments. Even then, the clever bastards found a way to trackback using SK2′s granularity check to their advantage.
Thanks to the Commie and William Teach for their suggestions – I’ve added Akismet to the sp@m fighting brigades and we’ll see how it goes overnight.
I’m trying like hell to avoid forcing everyone to register to comment at the Buffet. That just seems downright un-American. Plus, I’d hate to miss one of Feisty’s sexual innuendos just because she didn’t feel like filling out an extra text box or two. We’ll keep you posted on this ever-important breaking news.

Hah. Feisty filled out my box and..er…no, that’s not how it was supposed to go…
Sampo Karma worked surprisingly crappily for me. Then, when I took it off, BAM! spam-resistant again. Akismet be the ways to go, but you gotta keep an eye on it, because you get real people comments going in there.
So, in conclusion, Feisty box, Karma dealy bad.

Sadie dumped my SK2 shortly after I switched to WP and put in Akismet. It’s worked great. I’ve only had to rescue 3 comments out of almost 600 sp@m.

Good to hear it is working, Preston.
Gatekeeper has so far worked like a charm. Not one of those blogspot spams yet today.
Of course, now they are trying trackbacks, but SK2 is eating well!

SK2 works great if you turn the granularity check off.

Hey, Preston, even better comment spam plugin: http://nio.infor96.com/archives/369

Revised: that plugin hates SpamKarma2. Wipes out all trackbacks. I get email notification, but never show up.
