One last question, Donnah. Is it true Florida has mosquitos which are big enough to fly off with children.

If so, how do you deal with that?

Cranky-
Now I use these yellow paper plates that I stick on popsicle sticks and smear with Vaseline. I still get to kill, just more selectively.
Al Gore should come study me.

Plague? The French would call it an abundance of exotic fare... or brothers.

And Carter has a brain?

You guys are too sharp. Yes, the toads seem to have disappeared. So like the Folgers commercial, I've substituted your favorite toads for our new brand to see if you noticed.

catbat, did you see your earlier submission? We posted it. Please send more!

Donnah, it's cool that you took the hit with aphids to have wildlife.

annika, thanks for straightening that out. I always forget which one has a sticky tongue and which one cuddles up to every third world dictator.

Preston, let my people go!

Q: If Jimmy Carter builds a home for a toad, does that mean the toad is un-American?

A: No. Toads have very small brains and are apolitical. Jimmy Carter also has a very small brain, but he is un-American.

Q: If a toad goes "ribbit" in the forest, but there's no one around to hear, does it still exist?

A: No, silly. Toads don't go "ribbit" only frogs do.

since this week features a frog, which is definitively not a toad, are you opening the blogging to other amphibians as well?

either way, i'm submitting another toad.

Tons of frogs here too. It's supposed to be a sign of a good natural environment. I came to terms with aphids a few years back, and decided I could tolerate them and stop poisoning them if that meant I would also have ladybugs, frogs, dragonflies, lightning bugs and butterflies.
