Paki Tries to Slip Boom-Boom Juice on Flight at West Virginia Airport
August 17th, 2006 at 11:23 pm by Preston Taylor HolmesI’ve been out on the road all day, listening to Thomas the Tank Engine videos instead of the news, but upon hitting my Bloglines feeds, I find (via Say Anything) that a Pakistani woman had carry-on liquids that tested positive for explosive residue at the Tri-State Airport in Ceredo, W.Va. She was on her way from West Virginia to Detroit, MI, America’s only official muslim “holy city”.
NBC News reports that federal screeners found four containers of liquids inside a woman’s carry-on bag during the screening process this morning. Larry Salyers, Tri-State Airport Director, tells WSAZ the woman is of Pakistani origin, lived in Jackson, Michigan and most recently lived in the Huntington area. She is being detained for questioning.
A federal official says the containers were make-up bottles, and it’s not known yet exactly what was inside. However, the official says the woman did seem to have legitimate reasons for traveling and did not fit any suspicious behavioral profile.
I can only hope and pray that this poor woman was not subjected to undue scrutiny due to her country of origin…. Detroit.
