AP Crying In Their Soup Over Bilal Hussein
September 18th, 2006 at 7:00 am by Preston Taylor HolmesBilal Hussein, assistant terrorist and anti-American Associated Press “stringer,” has been held for 5 months, and the AP is calling a waaaaahmbulance.
Military officials said Bilal Hussein, an Iraqi citizen, was being held for “imperative reasons of security” under United Nations resolutions. AP executives said the news cooperative’s review of Hussein’s work did not find anything to indicate inappropriate contact with insurgents, and any evidence against him should be brought to the Iraqi criminal justice system.
Hussein, 35, is a native of Fallujah who began work for the AP in September 2004. He photographed events in Fallujah and Ramadi until he was detained on April 12 of this year.
“We want the rule of law to prevail. He either needs to be charged or released. Indefinite detention is not acceptable,” said Tom Curley, AP’s president and chief executive officer. “We’ve come to the conclusion that this is unacceptable under Iraqi law, or Geneva Conventions, or any military procedure.”
The tragic part is that Hussein didn’t just… disappear.
We’ve been on Hussein’s case since the fall of 2004, after which, Rusty has really been on his smelly trail.
It’s no surprise that our suspicions have been confirmed – and it’s even less of a surprise that the anti-American Associated Press is working like hell to get him back out on the battlefield with his brothers to generate some more propaganda for their cause.

Let’s start a counter to measure how many days it take for the first “Free Bilal” sign to be spotted.
This has all the right ingredients for a new leftie martyr.

Here should be close enough. The Nation…er, I mean the Columbia Journalism Review has picked up your little post, PTH.
Maybe my Sarcasm Meter is broken (though I doubt it because I test it twice daily), but they think you’re giving legal advice over h’yere.
And this post wasn’t even filed under “Commies”! So the CJR wants to exercise their Veto on the Interbloggertory Security Council for poor Bilal The Brave Photojihadi.

Nobody must read the CJR because it’s generated as many hits as Tennessee had rushing yards the other night. Shame.
