Where Me Be?

October 18th, 2006 at 1:38 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes

I spent the last few days in Hotlanta at a work-related conference. Therefore, I haven’t been very tuned-in to the hurly-burly of modern current-events and political whatzits. I would have popped in and posted something like “light blogging ahead” or “really busy”, but what do you care? Hell, we’re all busy. I’ll leave such pronouncements to more important bloggers, on whose words you hang daily.

Additionally, as long as this blog continues to be an unpaid internship, and as long as I am fortunate enough to have such excellent co-bloggers, I just don’t see the buffet climbing much higher on the ol’ priority list these days. Especially with all the crap going on in real-life right now.

That doesn’t mean I’m not going to try though.

While in Atlanta, we did get to have dinner & drinks at Turner Field. We had the run of the stadium, but as it was raining pretty hard, nobody really wanted to run the bases. It was nice to see some of my old favorite offensive Native American stereotypes in the Braves museum though. Made me long for the good ol’ days when everyone had thicker skin. Photos after the jump.

So you’re just going to stir up some racial crap and then leave me and Smantix to deal with the fallout?

    Cool.

  2. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Isn’t that what I usually do? leave you guys hanging like so much meat.

  3. Smantix Says:

I promise not to gloat when I’m on my business trip to Florida in December.

  4. Billy Says:

    Gloat away, Smantix.

Meanwhile, I won’t have to go anywhere to enjoy 70 degree weather, golfing in shorts, and a Super Bowl-bound football team.

I’ll make sure I send you guys reports when you are freezing your Tennessee asses off…

  5. Smantix Says:

If we had a Super Bowl caliber team – hell, if we had a playoff caliber team – we would still be freezing our asses off.

And who’s this mystery Super Bowl team again, Billy? The only teams I’ve got pegged for a shot at their titles are Seattle, Chicago, New England and Pittsburgh. Maybe Denver.

  6. Billy Says:

    Uh…the 4-1 Chargers…

Who beat the Steelers. With the #1 Offense in the NFL and the #2 Defense.

We do have one problem in making it all the way to the Super Bowl: Marty Shittenheimer. If it wasn’t for his dumb ass, the Bolts would be undefeated right now.

  7. Smantix Says:

Oakland, Tennessee, San Francissy and a still wobbly post-appendix surgery Roethlisberger can make a 4 and 1 record.

My guess would be they are 6-4 by the time they play Oakland again on Nov. 26. Between now and then they’ve got Denver, St. Louis and the Bengals. That’s not taking anything away from Martyball – they just haven’t faced a complete team with a winning record yet.

  8. Billy Says:

A case of Avocados and tortilla chips from El Indio taco shop against, well, whatever you can offer from Tennessee that the Chargers will be at least 8-2 on Nov. 26…

Let me know if the bet is taken…
