Yiddish Steel, some years ago I was in Israel and took a tour of Massada(sp?). At the end our guide told us that upon graduation from boot came every Israeli soldier stands in Massada with a gun in one hand, the Torah in another and recites an oath that ends, “Massada, never again”.

I remember thinking,”Now THERE are some bad***ed, mother******s!!”.

Uhhh…. The answer, sadly is, “Yes”. But, the times they have been a-changing. Over the years, I have been involved with the youth at my temple, and have come to find many a young, steely Jew (like myself!) consider themselves very conservative. Why?! Well… A number of these rookies have made their trip to Israel (via y-Mitzvah) and realize what’s worth fighting for. If you want it bad enough, you sure-as-hell aren’t going to be a lib. For Israel to survive, for Jews to truly reject Islamo-Fascism, jihad, and terror, you have to have some nadz! You have to be a conservative. A Conservative knows what it takes to fight and what is worth fighting for. The same applies here in our own country. If you want it bad enough, you know that it’s worth fighting for.

Semi-related Michele, I was once Googling for images of vomit (long story, don't ask) and learned firsthand that the vomit reaction is mental as well as than physical. I had to stop when I started getting a little unsettled. I know, I know, TMI.

And it drives me nuts, Purple. I think if Jewish people were to take a hard look at what conservatism offers and get past the fear of the Jeebuz People, more of us would embrace it.

It would make an interesting thread if Yid and Sharon would care to put their two cents in.
