The U.S. military and FOX News have not yet confirmed that the execution has taken place. Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya wire services and U.S.-backed TV station Al Hurrah reported his death.
The man dubbed the Butcher of Baghdad was convicted of crimes against humanity for the killing of 148 Shiite men and young boys after their failed assassination attempt in 1982 in the village of Dujail.

On the bright side, he lived long enough to see his wretched, blood-soaked spawn executed and dangled from the same rope as did many of his victims. Still, hanging was far too good.
UPDATE:
The video* came out quicker than I expected. Now you can enjoy watching Hussein’s death in much the same way he enjoyed watching videos of the deaths of his own victims. Kind of provides a little closure for some, I would think.

Curiously, out of some 40 people at work today (practically all in their 30s or above,) the only one who gave a shit about this or even brought it up was me. OK, so one guy high-5′d me. These aren’t MSM types, either.

For those of us who remember the incessant “where’s Saddam?, where’s Saddam? Where’s Saddam?” cackling that the leftardosphere parroted prior to his capture, it seems they were only asking out of general concern for his well-being.
The Hot Air post does a decent enough job of applying the disenfecting sunlight on the Mainstream outlets eulogizing the tyrant – but the real murderer’s malaria is out in the fever swamp of the blogs.
From our own semi-adopted troll Sharon Cobb to a host of others. We should have just put him back in power. Other sites like Talk Left post flattering pictures of him with the date he was born to the date was hung as if to bow their heads in a moment of prayer.
I say prayer rather than “silence” as the secular Saddam clutched his Koran with the same religious fervor that the leftards do to his memory.
