Support for Israel in the U.S. has lately become bafflingly multi-cultural, representing an alliance between diaspora Jews, traditional Zionists and evangelicals. Support from Christian zealots, who now represent about one third of Israel’s tourist business, is welcomed even though, according to evangelical doctrine, Judgment Day will bring the ultimate destruction of Israel and death to most of its residents.
Shortly after the interview, the Vanity Fair journalist tried his best to suck the pants off of Edwards in the green room, but was beaten back by Edwards’ staff of bodyguards.
And, inexplicably, a bafflingly high number of liberal Joooooooooooooos will waddle up to the voting booth and vote Defeatocrat in ‘08. Maybe some of my yiddish commenters can enlighten me on how that happens year after year.

Now he takes the self-administered shoe to the balls with his “mis-speak” about the greatest short-term threat in the Middle East, ‘Da Jooos! Now that Edwards is eliminated from the Dem Pool, next we’ll see Camp Billary and B.H. O’Bama chew each others asses off and leave the party with the perfect nomination come July ‘08: Governor Tom Ball Sack from Iowa.

As an “evangelical” Christian (Yes, one who listens to secular rock and roll and bad ’80s music), I am getting sick of this portrayal of Christians and their support of Israel.
In the Bible, God repeatedly reminds the world that He will bless those who bless His people (the Jews), and curse those who don’t.
As far as Judgement Day…it’s going to bring about the ultimate destruction of almost EVERYONE left on this earth. In fact one of the signs of a coming Judgement Day is that Israel will withstand an awesome attack with God’s help.
OK, enough with the heavy-handed theological breakdown. What I really wanted to say was this:
John Edwards, you suck. Now bring back Amanda Marcotte and her hoo-haw so we can have some more fun at your expense.

As far as Edwards, I am sorely disappointed. Perhaps former President Jimmy Carter is advising him.(?)

I was ambivalent about Edward before this. I didn’t support his bid for the Presidency before this. The anti-Israel thing is just the icing on the (kosher) cake (for me) regarding him.
I’m so old, I voted for Carter in 1976. Just like many Bush supporters who would take back their vote if they could, I’d certainly take that one back. Hindsight.
