The Secular Faith – Sayings of The Wise
March 6th, 2007 at 3:35 pm by CrankyDuring an archeological excavation on Martha’s Vineyard a few years ago, several scrolls were found buried under windmill farm legislation.
These writings, which are possibily thousands of years old, are surprising in that their messages are as relevant now as they were when they were written.
Sample:
The man who takes from another man is a thief.
Yet the man who takes from another man for the children is highly electable.
The one who murders will face judgment. But the writer of children’s books becomes a martyr.
Entering the temple to pray is seen as gauche, yet with a Southern drawl it is praiseworthy.
The one who defends the cause of the poor will be praised. Thirty percent in attorneys fees doesn’t hurt either.
The one who seeks justice will prosper. Her herds of cattle futures will multiply.
Harassing the young women is worthy of scorn, but a vote for abortion absolves much.

Good stuff. Hopefully your archeologists will dig up more.
