Baiting the Race Baiters

April 12th, 2007 at 3:09 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes

We all know why there is such a manufactured uproar about Imus’ comments last week. It’s another dog-and-pimp show from the race hustlers that show up every time they think they can shake down a corporation or entity for a few Race Dollars™. It’s much ado about nothing, as Imus has been attacking racial/ethnic groups for years. A few choice comments about the evil Joooooos:

* “boner-nosed, beanie-wearing Jewboy”
* “thieving Jews”
* “money-grubbing bastards”

Lucky for Imus, not only are attacks on Jews and Christians perfectly acceptable, they’re encouraged. Especially when attacking cracker-ass crackers. Donny crossed the line, though, when he stupidly picked on members of one of the protected classes (blacks and muslims).

Kansas City Star columnist Jason Whitlock tells it like it T-I-Is.

Thank you, Don Imus. You’ve given us (black people) an excuse to avoid our real problem.

You’ve given Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson another opportunity to pretend that the old fight, which is now the safe and lucrative fight, is still the most important fight in our push for true economic and social equality.

You’ve given Vivian Stringer and Rutgers the chance to hold a nationally televised recruiting celebration expertly disguised as a news conference to respond to your poor attempt at humor.

Thank you, Don Imus. You extended Black History Month to April, and we can once again wallow in victimhood, protest like it’s 1965 and delude ourselves into believing that fixing your hatred is more necessary than eradicating our self-hatred.

Before you start shouting *racist!* at Whitlock, know that he just happens to be black. So, instead, shout *Uncle Tom!*.

I ain’t saying Jesse, Al and Vivian are gold-diggas, but they don’t have the heart to mount a legitimate campaign against the real black-folk killas.

It is us. At this time, we are our own worst enemies. We have allowed our youths to buy into a culture (hip hop) that has been perverted, corrupted and overtaken by prison culture. The music, attitude and behavior expressed in this culture is anti-black, anti-education, demeaning, self-destructive, pro-drug dealing and violent.

Well, if Jesse and Al actually wanted to help pull their people out of poverty, they would support the comments of folks like Bill Cosby, who has dared to point out how the hip-hop culture of illegitimacy and illiteracy is keeping too many young blacks stupid and incarcerated.

But that would mean that poverty pimps like Jackson and Sharpton would have to get real jobs. And we all know they’re not qualified for any type of legitimate employment.

In the grand scheme, Don Imus is no threat to us in general and no threat to black women in particular. If his words are so powerful and so destructive and must be rebuked so forcefully, then what should we do about the idiot rappers on BET, MTV and every black-owned radio station in the country who use words much more powerful and much more destructive?

I don’t listen or watch Imus’ show regularly. Has he at any point glorified selling crack cocaine to black women? Has he celebrated black men shooting each other randomly? Has he suggested in any way that it’s cool to be a baby-daddy rather than a husband and a parent? Does he tell his listeners that they’re suckers for pursuing education and that they’re selling out their race if they do?

* crickets *

UPDATE: Imus fired. No big loss to radio, but a crock of shit nonetheless. The day Al Sharpton becomes the arbiter of what’s allowed and not allowed on the airwaves, it’s time for all of us to bite down on a shotgun sandwich. Sadly, that day may already have come.

    Word! Fo’ shizzle, biatchez!! You comin’ correct today, Holmes.

    Damn, I sure do like the way this is all going so far.

    Here’s something from a better time. Thinkin’ back on when I was a little nappy headed girl. I wish those days would come back once more. A little Sir Duke.

    Why do they choose degrading music? Maybe because there’s no talent or drive like that anymore in the young black community.

  4. Billy Says:

    Jason Whitlock is one of the best sports writers in the country.

    In fact, he is one of the best writers PERIOD.

    I’d love to get him face to fact with Sharpton, Jackson or our beloved Cynthia McKinney to discuss racial politics. I’d be willing to bet his IQ is higher than theirs COLLECTIVELY.

  5. Billy Says:

    KA-BOOM!

    Imus just lost his radio gig.

  6. AnonymousDrivel Says:

    I’ll bet Imus is kicking himself now for the sullying he got by entering Sharpton’s lair to kiss that race baiter’s ring. Imus placated and got fired anyway… surely at the insistence from the likes of Sharpton and J. Jackson.

    I’m sure there’s some karma in all of this; but still, even for an Imus, getting lectured about racial intolerance and offense by this lot has to make most people retch.

  7. Smantix Says:

    Holmes, you fiend, I didn’t have the opportunity to check in yesterday afternoon and was gonna come at this today after reading the narcissistic vagocentrist and genitally named Ana Marie Cox’s chin wiping of her relationship with Imus.

    Poor Imus. Now who will blow him for publicity?

  8. stikNstein....has no mercy Says:

    IT’S NOT ABOUT BEING MORE SENSITIVE……..IT’S ABOUT SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER…

    It’s about speaking Truth To Power…………
    Yep…a Quaker axiom quoted by an attorney for the Duke lacrosse players yesterday……

    That’s it……..

    That’s the whole deal……&#8230…
