Starbucks Apologizes for Offending the Religious
May 10th, 2007 at 9:05 am by CrankyCan you believe it? First Starbucks features this statement in their “Way I See It” coffee-cup quotes feature:
Why in moments of crisis do we ask God for strength and help? As cognitive beings, why would we ask something that may well be a figment of our imaginations for guidance? Why not search inside ourselves for the power to overcome? After all, we are strong enough to cause most of the catastrophes we need to endure.”
That’s the old news. Instead of picking quotes from both ends of the spectrum such as, “why do those who don’t believe in the supernational create their own gods in the temple of environmentalism and liberalism?” they have made amends with people of faith.
Wuzzadem has the details.

Ok, you iceholes have totally screwed me. It probabally wasn’t Cranky. My guess is Preston Holmes (who has a middle name, btw).
But seriously, when you bastages suggested that I assault the towers of SadlyNo, I did it without compunction! Mostly because I like buffet’s, and all six meats. But you sons of badges let me down, and didn’t even participate! Have we been wussified to the point that we don’t even fight ridiculous ideas?
Can we support Ann Coulter when she calls Edwards a faggot, but then complain that our collective vagina is sore, so we can’t protect others from such tripe?

Just sayin’. You can laugh off how you left me high and dry. But deep down… you know.

Sorry, Kev. [hangs head in shame]

You infidels are such pussies. Why aren’t you rioting and burning down every Starbucks in sight?

Kevin – need I remind you that I never pledged to join the fray. I don’t have time to blog, much less join in blog spats against moreons. But I’m with you in spirit, Kevin.
Plus, I don’t need those Sadly No faggots knowing any of my ISPs.

I don’t hate them for their disrespect toward the religious. I hate Starbucks for their overpriced, overbrewed coffee and the pretentious vocabulary.
When was “large coffee, cream, no sugar” expunged from the English language? When twits with attitudes started selling overpriced bad tasting coffee to the self annointed intelligentsia is my opinion.
Dunkin Donuts has better coffee and better service without the attitude.

After you say that and they come back with the ‘tude, just repeat it again slower. They’ll blink first most of the time. Deep down, they probably loathe having to use the pretentious jargon.

Cranky, I’ve tried that. The coffee-making-geeks there don’t respond very well…it’s like your speaking Chinese to them.
Fortunately, I buy high-quality coffee to drink at home, but when I am on the road I am practically forced to drink Starbucks. And they have our entire country by the nutsack as well…turns out their coffee has twice the caffeine content of a regular cup of joe…
