Annika Says Farewell
May 21st, 2007 at 7:28 am by Preston Taylor Holmes…in an oscar-worthy departure speech.
And so one of the smartest, most creative bloggers out there sets off to become the anti-Johnnie Cochran of the legal-o-sphere.
I would be more depressed, but she promises to re-appear on this very site at some point in the future, which gives me a shred of hope. Go and say goodbye, but don’t get all mushy on her, she hates that.

Are you kidding? We all got mushy.
But, losing Annie has sent some of us over here, including me, so nice sendoff for her, but I think she does like the mushy.
Speaking of mush, especially read Casca’s piece featuring a touching Frost poem, which was truly interesting from a trained killer.

Shelly, I’m just saying, one time Annika told me that if she ever saw me cry that she would tear off my stones and feed them to me for showing weakness. I listened.

Well, Preston, I believe that she said it, but real men don’t worry about that shit. We learn to protect them on the athletic field and in the towel snapping in the locker room after, and from sassy little cuties like Annie early on.
So, I feel a bit mushy myself about her leaving, but as an old lawyer who lived through the Bar exam, I understand.
That’s not the same as liking it.
So, go say goodbye to her. I’m sure she’s still reading the crybabies’ withdrawal posts.

Preston, you need to sharpen your reading skills if you think I’m a woman. Women don’t learn to snap towels in the locker room to protect their stones…

Whoops – sorry Shelly – That’s what I get for only half-way reading comments and responding while connecting to the site via a proxy at work to avoid detection.
Excuses, excuses.

WTF do you know PTH. Any guy with three names already has a fag-tag on him.

LMAO – Watch out Preston, Annie’s friends are moving in on SMB…

Well, at least you’re not a bunch of politically correct pansies. Then we’d just have to ban you outright.

Shelly, I thought you were a woman, too–a really tough and manly woman. I read Annika’s journal for nearly a year and never figured it out.
