Illegal Immigration Station
June 26th, 2007 at 9:35 pm by Preston Taylor HolmesMalkin is live-blogging the goings on in congress. I guess she just plain doesn’t like brown people. NZ Bear has put the massive list of amendments online – organized and searchable.
She’s got some droppings from the Clay Pigeon amendments package here. Even Captain Ed is exposing outright lies hidden in the package, which I’m sure the Senate would rather you not bother reading. Then again, I’m sure the Captain will find a way to excuse any involvement GOP Senators may have in the bill in an effort to continue showing blind loyalty to the dying party. Hope I’m wrong…
Check Malkin, Ed, NZ Bear and Ace for your breaking betrayal news this week. Me, I’ve got a damn job.

“…the goings on in congress.”
FILIBUSTER TIME! PTH, it’s the ‘ongoings’ in congress, not the ‘goings on’ in congress. I vote we shelve this amnesty issue for as few years until we resolve this difference, just to be safe.
Don’t make me filibuster you. Because, according to some arcane Senatorial rule I’m not allowed to filibuster simply because I’m not a Senator. But this is too important for ‘rules’.
Sheesh. ‘Goings on’. Ludicrous!

Some of those provisions are simply jaw-dropping.
College funds for illegals, back reparations for descendants of Japanese interned in WWII, a provision overriding “at-will” employment that’s good enough for the hoi polloi evidently.
Who the fuck do these people think they are?
On joining the Armed Forces:
“An alien who files an application for Z nonimmigrant status shall…(have) conducted appropriate background checks, to includename and fingerprint checks, that have not by the end of the next business day produced information rendering the applicant ineligible shall be eligible to serve as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States.”
How’s that for safety and making sure you’re not getting unbalanced people?
They have a provision to pay back Social Security benefits from 2004 based on unverifiable “self-employment”.
This is the biggest hulking mess I have ever read. I refuse to believe that any of these people have actually read what is in this bill. They have been bought and paid for and told what to say.
There are things in this bill we don’t support for US citizens – much less illegals. I’m still combing through it looking for the gay marriage amendment.
The “worksite enforcement” section ends with hiring tens of thousands of new bureaucrats to make sure the rules are not being followed. Basically, a new permanent class of government teat sucklers.
They’ve got a section where they even grant refunds to people who pay the fine for entering illegally.
This is absurd. It is a dealbreaker and will be the end of my support for any Republican forever.
Anyone who is running for President needs to stand up right now and say that this bill does not deserve to pass or I will not support them. Thompson included.

Well…I’m pissed off.
I cannot believe how betrayed I feel. Time to go drown my sorrows in some Hawaiian Punch…

It’s well past time that we the people went to D.C. and executed a citizens arrest upon the lot of ‘em.
