As to the linked AP story, there’s some misinformation in there (shocking, I know) but one especially notable excerpt that actually informs:

“All the Democratic presidential candidates in the Senate voted to end debate and advance the bill. Among the Republican candidates, only Sen. John McCain of Arizona voted to keep the measure alive. Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., at first voted with McCain, but switched his vote when it was clear the bid to end debate would fail.“

Plonk! Goodbye, Brownback. Do we want such a disingenuous, weathervaning schemer to be President? So the Right field gets thinned by at least two with McCain leading the long walk to the dugout. No Gatorade shower for you.
