That’s garbage. Which fences did they move in?

The left field fences (Aaron’s primary power field in 1974 were all predominantly further away then, compared to today’s fences…and even the fences in the 50′s and 60′s (see Ebbets Field, The Polo Grounds, Shibe Park etc.)

Please don’t make me do an analysis of this for you, Mark (the guys at the Buffet already think I am a baseball geek). But I will if I have to.

I am curious about the motivations for that comment…but I’ll stay mum.

Bonds did it on steroids, and Aaron did it when they moved the fences in. There hasn’t been an honest attempt to break the ‘Babes” record since 1961.

I agree, Nigel, and would like to add:

Girls named “Ginny” are highly likely to have their ovaries violently removed by cannibals.

I’m not sure Ginny’s roe is even caviar-worthy, but I do share Nigel’s belief that she is nothing more than a cranially-empty tampon socket.

Annika, please forgive my ignorance of the situation. I’m confident that you ultimately prevailed through that ordeal. If I’m wrong, I’ll put a nuclear gauge on my lap and then proceed with sterilizing myself.

At first I thought that was an olive-branch Ginny extended.

Of course that line about Annika “expanding her command of the english language” kind of ruined it for me.

Annika doesn’t need anyone to defend her, Ginny…but let me just advise you: You are in WAY over your head if you want to challenge Annika or her language skills.

But let me make an argument you can better understand:

Girls named “Ginny” are usually dumb as a rock and suffer from a myriad of venereal diseases.

I heartily commend Annika for her successful completion of the Bar exam and wish her a continuation of accomplishments in her legal career. In addition, I would like to praise Annie for her significant contribution to the realms of literature and art. With her resplendent intellect and unbridled creativity, she's like an amalgam of Russell Kirk and Stephen King. As you may already know, her graphic novel has been published worldwide. With the coming movie adaptation of Annika's Death Nell, the collective imagination of mankind will be stirred like never before. Those are just more reasons why, to borrow a phrase from an Ang Lee flick, her fans can't "quit" her. We salute you, Annie!
