Sketch of Gun Gets Suspension

August 23rd, 2007 at 7:50 am by Cranky

From Faukkks News:

Officials at an Arizona school suspended a 13-year-old boy for sketching what looked like a gun, saying the action posed a threat to his classmates.

The boy’s father, Ben Mosteller, said that when he went to the school to discuss his son’s punishment, school officials mentioned the seriousness of the issue and talked about the 1999 massacre at Colorado’s Columbine High School, where two teenagers shot and killed 12 students, a teacher and themselves. Mosteller said he was offended by the reference.

Chandler district spokesman Terry Locke said the crude sketch was “absolutely considered a threat,” and that threatening words or pictures are punishable.

.

Here is the threat. If you look closely, the safety is off.

Here is another drawing dedicated to these pathetic people who call themselves educators:

Please don’t feel threatened.

The lack of common sense among our educators these days is really frightening.

Of course a sketch of the 8th grade home economics teacher in the nude would be considered “artistic freedom”.

We are spending billions on education “for the children”. Considering the quality of the people to whom we have entrused the education of our children, it is money poured down the drain. Anally retentive is a good start and stripped of any vestage of common sense. Mindlessly adhering to unintelligible policies while trusted with the task of teaching students to think critically. Do these fools not realize that to follow the line of logic (or idiocy) they have exersized here; should the kid have written “f**k you” in his note book, they would have him arrested for sexual assault or attempted rape.

  8. Cranky Says:

I think “Zero Tolerance” policies give unthinking people their perfect out. Questions like “is it wrong or right” or “what is the motivation” are made completely irrelevant by some moron spouting out “well, that’s the policy”.

Couple that with some Liberal groupthink and you’ve really got trouble.

The thing I’d be more worried about is that the kid’s 13 and he draws a cr@ppy looking gun like THAT?

I thought a six year old drew it.

I don’t suppose I would be allowed to take my deer rifle to that school. I remember bringing my .270 Win. to school so I could get a jump on the afternoon deer hunt. This was pre-daylight savings time, so it got dark early. And we were allowed to keep our rifles in the cloakroom. Those were the days, my friend, those were the days.
