Americans Falling Short
August 29th, 2007 at 11:45 am by Preston Taylor HolmesThe U.S. is the most armed country on Earth with 90 guns per every 100 people.
U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world’s 875 million known firearms, according to the Small Arms Survey 2007 by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies.
About 4.5 million of the 8 million new guns manufactured worldwide each year are purchased in the United States, it said.
“There is roughly one firearm for every seven people worldwide. Without the United States, though, this drops to about one firearm per 10 people,” it said.
By my math, we’re short about 10 firearms per every 100 people, so some of you pansies need to get cracking. We’ve already got one per household member in our house, so we’ve done our part.

Not enough! We have 5.5 per household member and I feel under-gunned.

Well,, lets see,, there are three in the bed room closet, two in the kitchen, uh,, one in the garage, one in each vehicle,,, yeah, I’m pretty much doing my part.

That statistic could make you believe that everyone is armed. In reality, I would say there are a lot of people with no firearms, and a few people with a lot of firearms. I hope the swarms of unprepared people don’t end up begging at my door when the zombies come, but hubby is preparing for that as well.

That was such a timely story since I just picked up one of these last weekend.
Indeed, Michele, but don’t forget about the swarms of Mexicans and Bolsheviks that we will have to fend off at the start of the coming “Great War of the Haves and Have-Nots”.
