Mmm.. I Love the Smell of Liberalism in the Morning
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:57 am by TinyElvisOne of the best things about Democrat pre-primary politics is when they start trying to out-liberal each other. In pure socialist fashion, all the candidates rush to the front of the line to tell us why his or her far-left idea is further left than the person behind them.
Have you read John Edwards latest proclamation? It seems that the good senator is going to personally keep tabs on who is going to the doctor and when.
Sounds great! I’ve never felt so loved and cared for. Will the fine Senator personally be performing my first prostate exam? It’s due in a few years and he seems like such a nice guy.
I suppose the next step will be to send out menus outlining what/when/where we eat to make sure that we aren’t putting anything “bad” in our bodies. Include a few food-stamps for me while your are at it Mr. Senator.
Wow. I used to joke about “womb to the tomb” coverage and now he’s including it as part of his platform.
This pap-smear brought to you by millionaire John Smith.
The irony here is the fact that Democrats are usually the ones up front screaming freedom of expression, freedom of speech, stay out of our bedroom, etc. However, they feel no shame in inviting the government into their colons and vaginal canals.
God help us.

Don’t worry, E. With the Defeatocrats in charge, you’ll have government-run anal exams and saying things like “God help us” will get you jail time.

Mandatory Preventive Care…
Would over weight people be forced to lose weight? What would happen if they do not; would they be sent to prison? What about smokers? Would they be forced to stop smoking?…

Man these people are dumb, or more likely, think the voters are. Bush’s tax rate reductions have increased tax revenue and Edwards wants to raise money by increasing the tax rate, most likely resulting in lower tax revenue.
I wish for a little consistency in their rhetoric. High taxes rates on cigarettes are good because it will cause smokers to stop smoking is one claim. At the same time, high tax rates on income will not cause workers to change their tactics and, with static analysis, more revenue will be collected. As Laffer pointed out, a zero percent tax rate collects no revenue, but one hundred percent does as well because no one would work. As someone wiser than I said, the power to tax is the power to destroy.

Come on in Senator Edwards, the polyps are fine.

“Come on in Senator Edwards, the polyps are fine.”
When I read this, I cannot help but think of “O Brother Where Art Thou” and ol’ Delmar standing in the river. Good one.

I wonder what the government health policies would be towards smokers, or people who eat too much fat, sugar, cholesterol etc., the mentally ill, the unborn who have tested for risks of birth defects? Would there be talk about the burden of these kinds of problems on greater society? The prospect of far reaching government controlled healthcare is truly terrifying.

Tiny E, I hope you don’t mind my embellishing your excellent first post with the graphic. When it comes whoring off of another’s popularity, well guilty as charged.

Outstanding first post, Tiny. And I’m giving you full credit for the “graphic”, even though Cranky is trying to wheeze a little glory off your post….

It’s been 4 years since I’ve been to the doctor, because honestly, nothing is wrong with me! If there is something wrong, my body will tell me eventually, but until then I don’t know it and I feel fine.
I appreciate those that go for yearly check-ups because yes, they do save lives. But honestly, when I did go for yearly checkups, it seemed they always had to put me on some kind of medication that I know I didn’t need. Who’s to say this won’t get worse when these doctors are bilking the government, not just private insurance companies? Doctors don’t know what the hell they are doing. It’s simply a process of elimination for them. And they will put you through hell until they do finally figure out what’s wrong with you. By then, your symptoms are usually gone.
I won’t let my own mother force me to go to the doctor, why would I let John “Pretty Boy” Edwards force me?
And these liberals call Bush a “fascist”?

This post should go along with your “America – the most gunned up country” post. Anyone forcing me, or anyone in my family, into some daggummed tests is going to need more than a doctor.
