Article II Right to keep and Bear Arms

&#039;A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.&#039;

*note: as defined in The Everyday Encyclopedic Editon, Webster&#039;s New World Dictionary of the American Language, 1964 The southwestern Company Nashville, Tenn.

(Swamp Rabbit note; I took the time and effort (minute as it was) to lay out the following, in an effort to clearly define the second amendement of the bill of rights).

Well - to a considerable degree.

Regulated - to control or direct according to a rule, principle, etc.

Militia - any army composed of citizens rather than professional soldiers, called out in time of emergency.

Being - at hand; immidiate: as, for the time being.

Necessary - 1. essential; indispensable. 2. inevitable. 3. not voluntary; required. 4. undeniable; unavoidable from the premises.

To - into a condition of.

The - refers to a particular person or thing.

Security - protection; safeguard.

Of - proceeding as a product from.

A - first in a sequence or group; hence.

Free - 1. not under the control or power of another; able to act or think without arbitrary restriction; having liberty; independent. 2. having, or existing under, a government that does not impose arbitrary restrictions on the right to speak, asemble, petition, vote, etc.

State - a body of people politically organized under one government within a definite territory.

The - refers to a particular person or thing.

Right - a power, privilege, etc. that belongs to a person by law, nature, etc.

Of - proceeding as a product from.

The - refers to a particular person or thing.

People - persons considered indefinitely.

To - into a condition of.

Keep - to hold for future use or for a long time. To have or hold and not let go; specific a) to detain. b) to hold back; restrain. c) to withhold. d) to conceal. e) to stay in, or at (a path, course, or place)

And - also; in addition. plus. as a result.

Bear - to carry, transport. to have, show, or wear.

Arms - weapons. warfare, fighting.

Shall - to express futurity in the first person, and determination, obligation, etc. in the second and third persons.

Not - in no manner, to no degree, etc. : a particle of negation, or word expressing the idea of no.

Be - to happen or occur.

Infringed - to break (a law or agreement); violate. ---infringe on (or upon), to break in on; encroach on (the rights, etc. of others).

Now I ask you, how in the world could you not understand that the right of the people to keep and bear arms is just that simple?</description>
