This has little to do with insecurity and more to do with apathy and privilege. Ivy League educations are over rated and receive more resources, credits per class, more jobs, more remedial courses and more financial aid than do Public Universities because the same who advocate for these private institutions are the same who advocate for budget cuts and tuition hikes at the Public Institutions.

How can you attack her for feeling a bit guilty that she has risen in a world steeped in corruption and the status quo while the rest of the country is falling apart. Something about her knows better. It’s called having a heart.

Cynthia McKinney is not just black, she is also a woman. Even Malcolm X had wished to work separately from white folk until his Black community was empowered enough to have something to offer. Is this the same as the segregation being pushed by democrats in the south decades ago? No its not the same. What she spoke about back in her college days was more about “let us breathe”.

Yeah its not so evil now that you hear from someone who knows huh?

I would feel a bit embarrassed to have attended Princeton also, being that I have been an advocate for free higher Public education and against privatization of these Universities for over a decade. My credibility would be on the line.

It is ironic and usually the case that advocates for racial justice and equality have settled with the idea on racial disparities but yet keep positive, and the ones who don’t advocate racial harmony and pretend that it doesn’t exist are always stuck on the subject and an never move passed it. I noticed how every single comment is about race and not about Princeton University vs State University, the Black Panther Party on segregation, etc etc … but attack McKinney for exploring and discovering where she is at politically and why.

She’s one of those black people who are ashamed of being affluent and being intelligent because black people are supposed to be poor, ignorant, and huddled in a corner in some ghetto. Unity and loyalty to the black community is more important than individual success. This community is always grasping for something that looks like a “culture” no matter how desperate, while bitching and whining about the white man and how he is to blame, because he has stuff, and he’s smart.

Of course, the only real solution is to have stuff and be smart. But that would require them to abandon their liberal nannies, and be individuals. If they are individuals who are content, then words like “hope” and “change” won’t get them whipped into an irrational frenzy.

It’s the scariest kind of racism, because it’s not overt, and it’s an inside job.

That you must “give back to the community”. It ignores the idea that as people get older that they realize that you can’t wait around for a handout and that you alone have more control over your life than some fraudulent racial movements or a government entitlement.

Her assumptions are typically condescending towards people who only want to live their lives instead of being part of a movement.
