Can’t We Talk About This?
April 16th, 2008 at 10:39 am by BrianIran, while much maligned by the Pro-Bush/Western Media, has been making many improvements to their infrastructure over the years. Axis of Evil my ass.
This is the Axis of DIY. There’s Bob Vila, that Norm Abram guy from the ole Yankee Workshop, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. But while Bob & Norm spend time turning 18th Century crackerboxes from 20th century crack houses into 21st century cracker condos for neo-urban hiptards, Mahmoud understands that sometimes you just have to start all over:
Tehran, 15 April (AKI) – Seven ancient synagogues in the Iranian capital, Tehran, have been destroyed by local authorities.
The synagogues were in the Oudlajan suburb of Tehran, where many Iranian Jews used to live.
“These buildings, which were part of our cultural, artistic and architectural heritage were burnt to the ground,” said Ahmad Mohit Tabatabaii, the director of the International Council of Museums’ (ICOM) office in Tehran.
“With the excuse of renovating this ancient quarter, they are erasing a part of our history,” said Tabatabaii.
Jimmeh Peanut should be arriving shortly to start Habitat for Humanity projects where those synagogues used to be.
What’s stopping Barack “Can’t We Talk About This” Obama from picking up the phone to ask the diminutive dictator if there’s a more environmentally harmonious solution to his renovation quandary? Burning churches to the ground just seems so bad for the atmosphere. Besides, “having a dialogue” is working out great on those 6,000 centrifuges they are wanting to build.
Compromise, people. It’s what gets the U.S. invited to all the cool dinner parties.

Why be reminded of a Semitic, Persian past when you’re about to ink a deal for a halal Wal-Mart on a very valuable piece of property?!
