But Obama never heard any of this kind of talk before in twenty years. Talk that Wright freely indulged in the pulpit and in that most sacrosanct chamber of privacy - The National Press Club. (while hiding behind a bunch of thugs from the Nation of Islam) and seemingly any time a microphone is placed in front of him.

Should it become necessary in the months from now to identify the moment that doomed Obama’s presidential aspirations, attention is likely to focus on the hour between nine and ten this morning at the National Press Club.

Speaking before an audience that included Marion Barry, Cornel West, Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party and Nation of Islam official Jamil Muhammad, Wright praised Louis Farrakhan, defended the view that Zionism is racism, accused the United States of terrorism, repeated his view that the government created the AIDS virus to cause the genocide of racial minorities, stood by other past remarks (”God damn America”) and held himself out as a spokesman for the black church in America.

In front of 30 television cameras, Wright’s audience cheered him on as the minister mocked the media and, at one point, did a little victory dance on the podium.

Quite a spectacle. Sadly, the majority of black people believe every word he said. It’s what’s taught in their homes. It’s what’s taught in their churches and you would be hard pressed to find black teachers (at a collegiate level) who would disagree.

If this is an attack on the black church it is one that is long overdue. The black church is a host to a cancer in need of irradiating sunlight.

You want to have a national discussion on race? Start by explaining how this bigot married you to your America hating wife, baptized your elitist children, propelled your pigmentation-based career and how he was your spiritual mentor and inspiration for your best-selling book but that you never heard any of this bull before. Have you heard it now?

Prepare fingerwag in 3….2…..1. He’s your “former” pastor though so you can’t disown him. After all, he retired an entire month ago.

Close with another landmark speech on race followed closely by a new superdelegate announcement in your favor.

Maybe when the time comes to vote on Wright you can vote “present” again like you have on everything else.

7. May I remind our studio audience that it was white folk and only white folk that ended slavery and pushed civil rights for blacks throught the nations legislatures. At first, most of those white folk were Republicans. Black America has shown it was worthy of the effort be being even more of a menace to itself than to even the nation at large. The main cause of death to black males 18-25? Other black males. The Obamamama candidacy has been a blessing to the US because now black bigotry and racism is being confronted. It and only it is the reason why they remain second-class citizens.
