The Best 80s Video That Never Existed

May 19th, 2008 at 11:32 am by Cranky

For Billy, who knows all there is to know about the 80s.

Bonus points to whoever can figure out what the original video/tune(s) are.

  1. Yiddish Steel Says:

Not that I ever listened to any of this limp-wristed stuff in the 80′s, but I can detect the strains of the Petshop Boys (I can’t believe I uttered that name).

  2. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

I think this gives me another opportunity to mention Murray Head.

  3. Nigel Says:

Yiddish, I had that pegged 4-seconds in. And don’t cast aspersions on the Pet Shop Boys.

Cranky, who is this fag “Billy” of whom you speak? He doesn’t know **** about the 80′s compared to me. I still hang with Rockwell…I’ll send him over to kick both your ass and Billy’s…

  4. Cranky Says:

    Sorry Bil- uh Nigel.

Was I the only one who thought that Clark Kent looked exactly like Superman except for the glasses?

I’m sorry but Yid wins the Serious Panzy Points for naming the right band first.

And Rockwell? I thought he was Michael Jackson. Talk about fags…

  5. Yiddish Steel Says:

Totally, Cranky. The Petshop Boys had a very distinct, but very gaayyy sound that even my 80′s rokk-snob ears could detect. If Nigel wants to hang with Rockwell (the poor man’s Michael Jackson), that’s his business; please don’t hold that against me. The next thing you know he’ll be talking about the days when he used to rokk out to Cameo (the poor man’s Gap Band).

QUESTION: “I Want A New Drug” (Huey Lewis), and “Ghostbusters” (Ray Parker Jr.) are the same song. Who ripped off whom?! DISCUSS!

  6. michele Says:

We can discuss Huey Lewis if you’d like…I have a whole theory that I trotted out this morning.

I’m working on an intervention plan for Nigel, but I don’t know if I need to include you guys on the list too.

    Pick a side.

  7. Nigel Says:

The next thing you know he’ll be talking about the days when he used to rokk out to Cameo (the poor man’s Gap Band).

That was a classic line, Yiddish…

Michele just about banned me from The Music Chamber.

Just got done listening to “Doing It All For My Baby”. Michele, I’m sending both “Fore” and “Sports” to your daughter for Christmas…

  8. Swap Blog » Blog Archive » Really unreal 80’s videos Says:

[...] had a great link up to a You Tube video of some non exsist, yet still great, 80’s videos. Link / post here Swap This These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new [...]

  9. michele Says:

Not the worst Christmas present. I once received the New Kids on the Block Christmas Album.

And no, you weren’t just about banned! It’s a blog where you’re free to admit what you like, as long as you’re willing to let me tear you to shreds;) (It’s fun for the whole family.)

  10. Stacy Says:

I too had Pet Shop Boys running through my head at 4 seconds in.

Thanks, thanks a lot. Now I’m singing that drivel.

  11. Cranky Says:

But don’t you think this song stands on its own?

Flight of the Conchords is a new discovery for me. Is anyone here a fan of their show?

  12. Yiddish Steel Says:

Flight of The Conchords was funny the first 3 episodes, then I lost interest. Band, musician, and music genre spoofs/satire have all been played out in my world. Right, Nigel?! Hence, “This Goes To 11″?!
