Bush’s War?

July 10th, 2008 at 10:30 am by Cranky

The Lemur King has an excellent collection of quotes regarding WMD and the need to depose Saddam Hussein. Problem is, Rummy, Rove and Dubya didn’t say them.

Another was Hillary Clinton:

My position is very clear. The time has come for decisive action to eliminate the threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s WMD’s.

Politicians must get on their knees every night and pray to whichever god/s/esses they choose for the short American attention span.

Obviously, it doesn’t matter – Bush still equals Hitler and all that.

As an aside, do you think that in 2025, when Iraq is a stable republic for 17 years, and inevitably, a so-so ally who trades with Russia and condemns Israel in the UN occasionally, that all the vein busting hysteria about “endless occupation” will be remembered?

Naw. A new generation of kids will be condemning whatever is new on the radar. My hunch is that it will be on the ecological castatrophe the U.S. is causing with “solar panel sprawl” and how it endangers the Nebraska Feces Hopper.

  1. Lemur King Says:

Bush, Rove, et al may not have said those things, but they had the cojones to do what had to be done.

I posted those particular quotes because those are some of the folks squawking loudest trying to push Bush into a woodchipper now that they have conveniently forgotten their own words.

Thanks for the link! Oh yes, you’ll be blogrolled in about 5 minutes. Voting for the Party of Insufferable Pricks (PIP’s) pretty much sold me.

  2. Brian Says:

Something tells me that at the end of the day Bush’s Elective War on Iraq is still going to cost less than Gore’s Elective War On Nature.

Especially considering how long we would have to maintain a presence as an occupying force in the latter.
