Remember when Bill Frist made comments as to Terry Schiavo’s mental capacity after examining a video for an hour?
My, how things change.
Battalions of armchair, Monday morning OB-GYNs looking towards former Senator Frist’s leadership in the realm of anecdotal, retroactive medical diagnosis.
As stated in the comments of the previous post, I’m still ambivalent about the Palin pick but there is something much more pernicious about the Democratic Party’s line of attack on Sarah Palin’s underage daughter and mentally challenged son. It’s called defamation and libel.
For all of Barack Obama’s demand letters against television stations for airing advertisements about his binding ties to Bill Ayers, these accusations and insinuations against Palin and about her pregnancy (and her children) are so far beyond the pale that they demand legal action. Making up stories out of whole cloth in order to defame a woman who has been running for Vice President for less than 72 hours.
Send a simple demand letter asking for a million dollars. The story will either be retracted or they will dig in and become the story.
DailyKos should be sued into bankruptcy. It’s not just some little known website of bloviators. It’s a business, the nutroot fundraising arm of a political party, and all that comes with.
Consistently applied standards might be the most damning implication of the sitemaster. After all, Lee Stranahan was promptly booted for his truthful commentary about John Edwards without hesitation. However, the defamation and libel against Palin is now being disseminated through their apparatchiks in the media.
If Republicans can play the identity politics game of the liberals, why can’t they play their legal game as well?
Full retractions or legal actions. Lawyer up, ‘Screw Em.
