About the Jet, she put it on ebay, it sold through a broker and saved Alaska $63,000 every quarter. Look it up.

You have to factor in depreciation of a USED asset. Do you sell a 2 year old car for the same as a new?
What about the cost of maintenance, the pilot, insurance, etc.

Purchase Price (2005) – $2,700.000
Depreciation (2005) – $385,714
Depreciation (2006) – $385,714
Depreciation (2007) – Don’t know the timing, so we’ll forget it
Basis (2007) – $1,928,572
Sales Price (2007) – $2,100,000
Capital Gain $171,428
Sales Commission – $31,000

Net Profit – $140,428

Not to mention – maintenance cost, garge, pilot, etc.

I don’t follow what McCain says because I’m not voting for him.

Whether he did or didn’t is immaterial as the the Chicago Tribune article does not mention him at all and is stating that she lied when about this when she didn’t.

I don’t know how special she is as I’ve only seen her for a week but when you manage the expectations game correctly (read: setting the bar low) it’s hard to be let down.

Good post. Problem is with McCain who was touting the “she sold it on Ebay” deal. We’ll continue to find some heres and theres where Sarah Palin is not Wonder Woman in Politics. Yes, there appears to be a little bit of legend.

But that’s because she is so special, I think.
