Breaking: Colon Powell Still Sucks

Obama has courted Republicans all along, but in Powell he gets party crossover plus military credibility. Powell is a retired U.S. Army general and served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under the first President Bush.
As Secretary of State under the current President Bush, Powell helped to build the case for the Iraq war, a role that hurt him with many Democrats and moderates, who had viewed him as somewhat apolitical. Powell made his endorsement today on the NBC program “Meet the Press.”
Powell said he had watched both Obama and Sen. John McCain in the last “six or seven weeks,” since the national political conventions, and paid special attention to how they reacted to the nation’s worsening economic situation.
Yeah, sure. I would say that this is yet another case of skin-color trumping ideology, but I’ve always thought Powell was yet another of Bush Sr’s liberal Republican cronies and I haven’t liked him since 1991. No news to me.
In the case of J.C. Watts, however, you do see where race > ideology. I’m still not sure the proper order, though. I think it’s 1) Race 2) Gender 3) Sexual Orientation 4) Party 5) Peer Group 6) Core Beliefs, but I’m not 100% sure, since I’m not an expert on identity politics like this guy.

You echoed my thoughts exactly Brian.
Regarding Sarah Palin: “I don’t believe she’s ready to be president of the United States,” Powell said.
I guess Obama is ready because he is the proper high-yellow color and Powell enjoys the familiarity.

He meant “transformational” in an African, allegorical beast fable kind of way. Meaning, he turns into a black panther. Ironic since he lost his biggest campaign loss was against a literal Black Panther in Bobby Rush.
Now if I say that, it’s clearly racist. Colin Powell says that Obama is a shapeshifter and he gets plaudits.

I heard Watts on Hannity’s radio show last week…I don’t think he’s voting for Obama. He was rather critical of That One.
Of course it’s possible he’s one kind of Republican in front of Hannity’s audience and another kind in reality.

It’s hard to get very angry at people like Obama. A snake is a snake and does snakey things, you know what I mean? What do you expect him to do?
But when people like Powell, or J.C. Watts or Bob Corker or W or McCain act like dickless cowards or pandering pimps, it’s really disappointing.
Actually, I’ve come to expect it from Powell, but you get the idea.

It boogles the mind. A few short years ago, Powell was an Uncle Tom and one of Bush’s War Criminals according to the left.
Now that he backs their Messiah, Powell is one of those most respected peolpe on the planet.
Give me a break.
