Election Liveblogging
November 4th, 2008 at 7:16 pm by CrankyIf you already cast your vote, please join us for the live blog. If not, get the hell off the Internet and go down to the polling place and cast your vote.
This year has some cool new interactive tools. Check out this map. Notice that even with 0% of the precincts reporting, they’ve called Vermont for Obama. Now that’s accuracy.
Maine and New Hampshire join Vermont for Obama.
Georgia goes for McCain in a big way (with 1% reporting).
Virginia is tilting towards McCain as well. This is great news.
Egads, with 2% in Florida, Obama is leading.
And he gives the concession speech he’s been writing for a few months now.

November 4th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
I don’t think they’ve hit Atlanta yet. Obama’s gonna go over there like the biggest thing since food stamps.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Florida at 9% has Obama up by 200,000 votes.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
This is all still way early. All this “calling states” before 8pm Eastern time is garbage and somebody ought to be slapping these stations around with a bit of the smelly codfish.
It’s too much horseracing. This won’t be interesting until about 10:30-11:30pm EST.
Many a Wednesday morning, post election, have I gone to work with bags under my eyes over nothing.
And yes, I’m skipping out on the rightwinger shindig in East Nashville. Sorry fellas, I’m not going to Woodland Street to get drunk and drive home from the ghetto. Even though I love some Monell’s.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Obama has 300,000 lead in Florida but the Panhandle is still open.
Rove on Fox is hopeful.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:01 pm
It’s 8pm., PA polls closing… Races to watch, Murtha vs. Russell, Sestak vs. Williams, Murphy vs. Manion.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
I just want to say this – tonight is the political equivalent of September 11th.
7 years ago, a bunch of Middle Eastern terrorists flew a couple of planes into the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.
Tonight, Barack Hussein Obama is going to fly O-Force one into the White House and it’s going to have about the same economic effect on this country as the former.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Yeah, Brian, but I’m probably going to bed at a reasonable hour. So its now or nothing.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
I’ll fight against pharmacology as long as I can. I make no promises.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Hey Sally Smarty Pants – I see you!
November 4th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Dang, how come I found out about this race just now?

Okay, you faggots. I’m here now. What did I miss?
November 4th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
You missed CNN calling Pennsylvania for Obama though they hadn’t counted an actual, single fucking vote yet. Purely on exit polls based on responses from Black Panthers standing outside with nightsticks.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Welcome aboard, captain.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
MAN is born free; and everywhere he is in chains. One thinks himself the master of others, and still remains a greater slave than they.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
Hay! Have actual three dimensional friends over! So I’m visiting with them. Still love you guys though.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
Fox just almost called Ohio for Barack, but changed their minds. Freudian news slip?
November 4th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
If you’re poor, Mexican and live in New Mexico, you voted for B. Hussein Osama.
Isn’t it ironic that all the illegals that McShame tried to give Amnesty turned on him? Big surprise. The RINOs are the biggest idiots, including McShame.
I’m looking forward to working for the Palin campaign in 2012. Hopefully the country won’t be completely lost by then.

CONGRESS-PA 12 — 1 of 600 precincts reporting (0%)
John Murtha, Dem (i) 193 53%
William Russell, GOP 170 47%
Sure, he’s only up by 23 votes, but I hope this doesn’t portend bad things.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Heh. The Obama handout voter can look forward to even better healthcare.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Sigh. Good Lord.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
You said it, E. Get ready for the destruction of the country at the hand of angry racist Marxists.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
CONGRESS-PA 12 — 41 of 600 precincts reporting (7%)
John Murtha, Dem (i) 5,839 57%
William Russell, GOP 4,366 43%
CONGRESS-PA 7 — 11 of 447 precincts reporting (2%)
Joe Sestak, Dem (i) 3,945 56%
W. Craig Williams, GOP 3,062 44%
CONGRESS-PA 8 — 1 of 348 precincts reporting (0%)
Patrick Murphy, Dem (i) 1,030 70%
Tom Manion, GOP 434 29%
Tom Lingenfelter, Ind 10 1%
Lessons learned:
1. War is bad for children, other living things and political careers.
2. People are stupid. Freakin’ stupid.
3. Judging by Murtha’s lead and Ted Stevens in AK getting the nomination, voters don’t want reform when cash will do the trick.
4. McCain can’t get a break. The poor schmuck got screwed by Bush in 2000 and again in 2008 thanks to Bush’s popularity rating. Screwed by the economy even though it was Obama’s policies and allies who brought us to the brink, McCain gets left with the bag.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
I’m not optimistic by any stretch of the imagination but if some of these states go back to undecided after 10 PM tonight people will flip cars over.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Well, at least this puts to rest the long-standing “Republican voter suppression conspiracy and election rigging” straw man.
Of course, this also totally clears the way for us to vigorously play the “Democrats manipulate droves of brain-dead automatons and instigate class and racial warfare” card.
I’m thinking about a four year nap with bi-weekly beer breaks.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Way to stay optimistic, Bmac. I’ll one-up you. Let’s hope they turn some cars over anyway and wind up trapped under some of them.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
I should have voted for Barr.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:22 pm
The mouthpieces on the news are reflecting on how out of touch McCain and the Republicans are. However, the popular vote is basically tied. Will the Democrats demonize the Electoral College system again this election?
November 4th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
Andrew,
I wish you would tell one of your readers, who shall remain nameless, to fuck off.
Thanks,
Kidnapped Brian
November 4th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
To entertain, only if momentarily.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
It’s over dudes.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:57 pm
That’s why I’m going to bed, Michele. Night, night.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
This is the most fucked up shit. And these people can be celebrating tonight but there a real world ramifications to this bullshit and you are going to feel it in your jobs.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
Watch what you say. They’re probably reading this now.
If the new overlords just give me 40 acres and a mule I’ll be fine.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
Brian, they simply don’t know any better. It’s a sad truth, but half of the voting public are complete morons.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:22 pm
Read it. I don’t care. They wouldn’t know what to do with a fucking mule unless you could put some rims and a stereo on it.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
It’s bad, no way to gloss it. A Marxist in the White House. When the American people said one thing and did another, such as elect Bush II twice and then keep McCain in the running, it was clear common sense had left the building and more bad choices were ahead.
Oh well, they say sometimes things have to be taken apart in order to put them back together in a better way. Unfortunately, it will be our lot to find out if that holds true for the United States.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:40 pm
You know dozens of people are struck dead every year trying to find the silver lining in those dark clouds.

I believe this election just hastens the advent of a revolution in this country that some of us have sensed in what we thought would be the far future.
Some may think the election of Obama is a revolution. No, he ain’t it. He is merely a continuation of a path our nation has been on for some time.
