“These things happen.”
Not: “Shame on the leakers. I denounce and renounce them.”
Not: “I’m going to get to the bottom of this and make sure those blabbermouths never work in a major campaign again.”
Just: “These things happen.”

Michelle also points out how McSuck used the same joke that Dole used in 1996 after his public shaming. It really doesn’t get any more pathetic than this.
Did anyone really expect McSuck to defend Palin? He only put her on the ticket because someone in his campaign pulled their head out of their ass long enough to realize that the GOP base had abandoned McSuck in droves. He would have lost Mondale-style without her. I certainly would have given my vote to the Constitution or Libertarian party had Palin not been on the ticket.
The GOP has a very steep uphill battle to repair itself. It’s time to kick the McCains and other RINOs to the curb – starting yesterday. The sad reality is that we still have count on these people to help derail the Obamessiah’s agenda. It’s time we all get in frequent touch with our own Senators and Representatives – not just when there is a hot-button issue, but every single week. Our only hope is to hold their feet to the fire and remind them that we’re out here and we’re tuned in.

For me the most jarringly pathetic McCainism in the Leno interview ensues below. Leno asks him if he thought the media “kind of favored” Obama. Witness the shockingly stupid and impotent reply in the following several lines:
Jay Leno: Do you feel the press kind of favored him? Did you see sort of —
Senator John McCain: Yeah, it’s all the press’s fault. (Laughter.)
Jay Leno: All the press’s fault.
Senator John McCain: No, no.
Jay Leno: Was there any hostility in the media? Like that Letterman fallout, was there any hostility there? (Laughter.)
Senator John McCain: You should have seen “The View.” (Laughter.)
Jay Leno: I saw “The View,” yeah.
Senator John McCain: No, but look, we’re big guys. We’re supposed to be able to take this kind of stuff, you know. You know, one thing I think Americans don’t want is a sore loser.

Now it can be said– McCain was a total turkey of a candidate, just as I and millons of other conservatives thought until, in a stupefying spate of bad luck for the GOP, he won the nomination and we were forced to support him.

Perhaps someone should remind the complaining Republican governors on CNN that whining to the media about Palin being front and center at the Miami press conference makes one look, oh, I don’t know, small-minded and petty.
The mainstream media has enough fodder from faux sources blogging in their basements without the Republican governors giving the liberal illuminati something real to work with!
