Thanks a Pantload, Alaska
November 13th, 2008 at 6:45 pm by CrankyFor reasons that defy sanity, you decided to re-nominate your corruption-addled Senator who just so happens to be facing charges.
And you expected, what?
Do you dimwits love your pork that much?
Geez.
Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens, the Republican incumbent who was convicted of corruption two weeks ago, fell behind Democratic opponent and Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich in the latest vote tally in their neck-and-neck race.
Enjoy your much earned forty years in the wilderness RNC.

Alaska? Have you ever heard of Chicago? Who is from the City with big shoulders? Obama. Emanuel, Alexrod, etc. The greatest shake down artist in the world live in that city.

Danny,
Stevens is the face of everything that is wrong with the Republican party. Here’s a career senator who loved his position more than his duties or conservatism.
The political structure in Alaska kept him in place rather than put up someone who was more conservative or even slightly less tainted by corruption.
And it cost Alaska Republicans their seat.
Man, it is infuriating to see the train wreck coming and watching as our leaders show no common sense.
Don’t worry about the Democrats. They will prove to be as ineffectual and corrupt as the Republican did when they had the White House and Congress.
I think the entire political process can be boiled down to disgusted voters throwing out one set of vain incompetents for another until the new set screws up just as badly. Then the cycle repeats.
Yes, Chicago sucks, but so what? We Republicans needed to clean house for the last six years.

Gotta go with Cranky on this one. The fact that Chicago Dems are corrupt is totally immaterial. Stevens and many more old school Republicans need to go. Uncle Ted is the poster child for term limits.
I’m a conservative Republican and I don’t want guys like Ted representing me or my party. As for the Dems, they can do whatever they want, cuz eventually what goes around comes around.
I can’t justify bad guys on my side by saying “but they have bad guys on their side too.” That is the hollowest of arguments.
TERM LIMITS!!!!
