Sort of. Kind of.

Please let me know where I’m going astray here but it seems that Plaxico Burress is getting harsher treatment than PacMan Jones ever did:

As Giants receiver Plaxico Burress was arraigned Monday on two separate counts of a weapons charge, harsh reactions and new questions arose about the events early Saturday morning, when Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh at a Manhattan nightclub with an illegal handgun.

For crying out loud people, let’s have some perspective here.

Burress had an unregistered handgun which a lot of people do and it is not illegal to do so in the majority of the country.  He was not brandishing it in the course of a crime or with the intent of threatening other people.

By virtue of his dumbassery, he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a club.  Is it as bad as pistolwhipping strippers and paralyzing a bouncer from the waist down because the NFL has pretty high standards for rude and felonious behavior.

In what prosecutors called “a strong case,” Burress faces a mandatory sentence of 3 ½ years in state prison, with a maximum of 15 years, on each count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Three and a half years in jail for shooting yourself in the leg while PacMan Jones gets reinstated for the umpteenth time.

Burress’ sentence should take into account his lack of intent and New York’s absurd anti-gun laws should be scrutinized as heavily as he is.  It highlights the delusional RINO NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his crucial disconnect on a Constitutionally protected right as well as the draconian nature of mandatory minimum laws in general.

Does Burress deserve punishment for violating gun laws?  A jury will decide that.  But does he deserve to have his life ruined over this?

Not in America.

2. I hope I don’t get into another endless argument with my law enforcement friends about this, but I was not surprised at all to find out this particular firearm was a Glock.

   I just ran a search on “Plexico Glock” and it was right there.

   If you’re going to carry one, carry it in your purse or man bag, not in your waistband. What an idiot.

   I’m pretty die hard second amendment, but the Glock should be recalled and re-released when they correct the trigger problem.

3. If Plexico had a CHL and was carrying in a nightclub in Dallas he would have been commiting a crime. In Texas it is against the law to carry a pistol in an establishment that makes over half its revenue from selling booze.

   I don’t know what will happen to him but I do think he picked the wrong gun to carry into a nightclub in the wrong state and he is lucky he did not shoot his dick off.

   I am really sorry that he is going to lose millions of dollars and maybe have to eat jail food for a few years like all the rest of the gangsta guys who get caught in NYC.

   This is not a second amendment deal, this is a stupid act by a guy who should have known better.

4. OT - all that is true enough. But I want a judge to be able to differentiate between someone who is threatening someone with a gun and someone who did not follow the path to exercise their Constitutional right to the letter.

   At the end of the day he wasn’t threatening someone else or making it rain bullets. There is no reason why someone who has no felonious history should get at least 3 and a half years and up to 15 years in jail for carrying a handgun. Murderers get out in less time. As do rapists and definitely illegal aliens.

   Bloomberg is a self-righteous Democrat Douche forced to be a RINO in order to run his Bronx Zoo.

   3 and a half year suspended sentence, community service, and a hefty fine.

   There’s no reason why PacMan Jones gets a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 18th chance and Burress gets a one strike rule.

   ME - I’ve never had a trigger problem with a Glock.

5. My Glock 27 doesn’t cause me any problems either. The only problem the trigger has is that it’s smooth and easy. Plexiko is an absolute idiot, but he shouldn’t get any more of a sentence than Pac Man got.

   And Bloomberg is a cocksucking nannystater and the idiots in NYC get what they deserve for putting that bastard in office.
