I am honored that you found any comment of mine worthy of reposting. You're very kind in your compliment as well.

Hopefully Jim Beam does not get nationalized anytime soon.

Ever read "1984"? I wonder how Victory Gin compares to Kentucky Straight Bourbon?

What Barry is doing is the same thing that FDR did in response to an actual economic depression. FDR's response prolonged the depression and made it more severe as well. Barry knows this and this is why he keeps telling us that it will get worse before it gets better; his plan is tried and true to make it worse before it gets better. The whole point is that as it gets worse it will provide a series of crises by which the government can gain more control over the citizens. Its a plan to make the government bigger which uses as its method instilling fear into the populace to such a degree that they will voluntarily turn over their freedoms to the government. The goal is to leave us as a socialist/communist state where no individual has enough freedom to help themselves, ergo leaving us all dependent on the government. The mainstream press/media has already given over this control voluntarily and most of the Dem majority are in lockstep, so at this point it is a runaway train going downhill. Look for continued usurpation of the constitution US Constitution and imposition of UN standards and International Law to continue to happen as well. They wil try to impose as much as possible as quickly as possible. It won't be hard to see if you look.

So sayeth Urkel The Fearmongerer. No Republican should support this regardless. It is indefensible on it's face. If they want to pass it, make them take the blame for it when it fails and items from the Smithsonian start winding up at the pawn shop and Jay-Z gets that oil lease in Utah he always wanted.

If we're going to bail people out, you might as well just set up an escrow account for every single family living in default, get their bills set up with auto billpay online and have it deducted straight out of the escrow.

This in no way negates the fact that the government is stepping in to penalize good banks or captive lenders that did not make bad loans in favor of bad banks and lenders. Now the bad banks can afford to hand out low interest rates while the banks that don't get TARP money are still forced to charge 6-8.25%

It does nothing to negate the fact that it's propping up people who bought more house than they can afford at the expense of people who borrowed responsibly.

There are no jobs in this bill. I will be ashamed to call myself an American if they pass this bill.

This whole stimulus bill is ridicules. It does nothing to create long term jobs. These are all short term projects that they want to do. What are all of these people working on these projects going to do once everything is fixed? They will be jobless without any where to turn and the economy will go back down. If we are going to throw money around, lets throw some into creating jobs outside of the government. One job resource that could us a jolt of life is our manufacturing industry. I was reading articles over at americanboom.com about how much of this problem could have been avoided if we had not outsourced all of our manufacturing to China. We need to stop relying on the government to bail us out and start bailing each other out. If we support companies that employ Americans then maybe they will not move to China.
