This Is Your Opportunity, Whitey

February 19th, 2009 at 6:51 am by Preston Taylor Holmes

In case you missed it, our new Attorney General Eric Holder (who makes Janet Reno look like a genius) pointed out yesterday that we’re a nation of cowards when it comes to race issues.

This is what happens in post-racial-socialist-Amerika. You thought the whole race-baiting thing was over, didn’t you? I didn’t.

“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards. Though race-related issues continue to occupy a significant portion of our political discussion, and though there remain many unresolved racial issues in this nation, we, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race.”

Holder continued, “It is an issue we have never been at ease with and given our nation’s history this is in some ways understandable. And yet, if we are to make progress in this area we must feel comfortable enough with one another, and tolerant enough of each other, to have frank conversations about the racial matters that continue to divide us. But we must do more — and we in this room bear a special responsibility. Through its work and through its example this Department of Justice, as long as I am here, must — and will — lead the nation to the ‘new birth of freedom’ so long ago promised by our greatest President. This is our duty and our solemn obligation.”

So, whitey, here is your opportunity. Let’s prove Holder wrong (as if that would be a challenge). Tomorrow, at your office, or even on the street, it is your duty to find a black man or woman and first and foremost, apologize to them for all the wrongs of your white ancestors. This is what Holder means by a “nation of cowards” – we’re supposed to be as obsessed with race as he and his boss are.

So, first, apologize for what your ancestors did, then maybe hand them a 5 or 10 dollar bill. This will help smooth over the racial tension that you didn’t even know existed between you and this person.

This will help us move forward as a country. Or not.

You don’t supposed that maybe he meant that African Americans could reach out to whites?

    Nah.

  2. richard creed Says:

I have a better idea – and i have done it.In the USA race is a matter of self identification – not dna.

    This is the law.

So you can change your race – and I have – I am no longer white – i am the smallest minority there is – “Other, more than four”.

If we all change our race – there is no more race and we don’t have to keep listening to this crap.

    Greetings:

I have long thought that to be a “liberal” or “progressive” one had to have missed out on a couple of important fairy tales. The one Attorney General Holder seems to have missed out on is the “Princess and the Pea”. My understanding of that tale is that the Princess’ shortcoming was her obsession with the presence of the pea and that because she knew it was there, no matter how many mattresses were piled upon it, it was always and forever a serious problem.

Maybe I’ll start referring to the Attorney General as Princess Holder, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Collectively, there is a lot of racial bigotry in this country. For instance, I knew this guy who used to go to this whacked-out race based church. I mean they peddled all sorts of crazy conspiracy theories about the government giving them AIDS and that the US deserved 9/11.

One time, before he won this big award, he even got this other racist preacher to talk about how “yellow (people) can remain mellow” and he hoped “white would embrace what’s right”.

I forget what happened to him but sitting in those pews for 20 years – all I can say is “wow”! What a profile in courage.
