I supported Keyes as well. I gathered with a group of supporters weekly back in 2000 to make signs and put info packets together.

Keyes always mops the floor with his debate opponents. Bush and McLame looked like deers in the headlights. The difference? They are politicians. Keyes has passion and believes what he says.

I think obsessing about the birth certificate issue is counterproductive at this point. Obama voters (and we have to de-program at least some of them if we’re going to turn this boat around) dismiss it as conspiracy nonsense and shut down, refusing to acknowledge the validity of his other points. I L-0-V-E Keyes’ outrage. I WANT MORE OUTRAGE. I’m flat out, full on pissed off and more outrage is in order!

Having just watched the video, I’m supporting what Keyes is saying 9/10ths of the way. He’s losing me at the BC issue. I understand the issues around it. I know about the laws of transmitting citizenship and all the rest. I know it would be easily solved if he would just release the damn Birth Certificate. Or his college papers. Or his lectures. Or the people he worked for. Opinions, etc.

The rest of what Keyes said in that clip I am right there with. Unfortunately, I’ve watched him long enough that I’ve seen him go off the rails before too. Different people have different roles to play. I think he has a role to play but President is not one of them.

As for the moderate Republicans that have run their party in the ground, I refuse to be lectured to about how their party has not been liberal and inclusive enough to win an election.

The conservative and libertarian voters are there to win. The difference is no one is getting out of their chair to vote for a Republican who would rather go-along-get-along than to fight for their goddamned principles.

And yes, Urkel is getting ready to screw this country up more than anyone has in US history. All we need is a terrorist attack when we are at our lowest financial point and the cascading effect would seriously wound this country’s ability to operate anywhere near it’s former capacity for decades.
