Gaffes and Gutterballs
March 21st, 2009 at 8:18 pm by CrankyI haven’t been blogging much this weekend. I’m working on some shovel-ready projects in my back yard.
Meanwhile, blogfriend the Lemur King shares some thoughts and a cool graphic the ‘bama’s bowling blunder.
My personal feelings? I’m glad you asked. Frankly I think it is a non-issue when 90% of the people out on the streets have probably said something at some point in their lives that used “special olympics” to make a joke.
I’m with Mr. King on this. It is a non-issue. Aren’t we righties opposed to the hypersensitive PC speech and mock outrage? The only disgust I feel is how Obama enjoys a media free pass that Bush never could.

“The only disgust I feel is how Obama enjoys a media free pass that Bush never could.”
That’s the issue.

I thought the lesson everyone was supposed to take after the Rush Limbaugh thing is that you have to assume that the other side is going to take everything you say out of context and attack you with it so you have to always be on guard to never slip up and say anything that might possibly be construed as Offensive To The Cause(tm).
Or maybe that’s just how I was supposed to interpret the whole Patterico, Hot Air, Goldstein imbroglio.
Was that the incorrect lesson? Or is it that we have to bite our tongues every time the suddenly human Urkel H. Carter Christ walks the tightrope of extemporaneous speech.
Sorry, I’ve just seen 8 years of Letterman’s great moments in American speechmaking where he lampooned Bush’s myriad verbal gaffes and is continuing to make Sarah Palin jokes 5 fucking months after the election.

Letterman would be more entertaining as an electricity distributor on the tracks of the NY subway.

Well Cranky , I hope you get some sweet stimuls bucks for those shovel ready projects. Do toads qualify for a bail out? I would say yes, since they are to big to fail.

Making a joke about the Special Olympics is not a big deal, but would you make a joke like that in front of a person who is either mentally disabled or the family member of someone who is? This clueless moron made it in front of millions of such people. This is a symptom of the fact that this guy is completely unqualfied to hold any public office, much less POTUS. Bush and Clinton managed to avoid saying anything like this (or insulting Reagan’s widow) for 16 years, this asshole has done it twice in three months.

60 consecutive days of sustained failure. It’s only going to keep getting better. Did I tell you guys that my newest BFF is TOTUS? Yeah! TOTUS. http://baracksteleprompter.blogspot.com/ Holmes introduced us.
